Lovely, peach colored, body had a a little bit of haze when poured, and the two fingered head looked well proportioned atop it. Before bringing the pint glass up to my nose, I could already smell the hops. The aroma was very citric and piney as well. There was a ton of grapefruit on the nose. The taste was also emphasizing citric and tropical, rather than bitter, flavors, with some tangerine, grapefruit, and some guava and passion fruit. The finish was drawn out and drying. The beer was little thinner than typical for the style. I liked this one for being a bit different than typical a DIPA.

In a time when even the Imperial IPA's are venturing into a brighter and fruitier spectrum, Galactica drinks like an IPA that's gradually going out of vogue. Still, it won't go quietly and Clown Shoes makes a good hoppy beer regardless of the styling. Galactica pours amber with off-white suds. Dank aroma redolent of wet pine needles, woodsy and floral hops, and resin. Pithy flavor of grapefruit peel and bitter pine. Some caramel and toasty malt comes through. Crisp feel - not quite bracing but intense. There's no doubt that Clown Shoes can appease hopheads.

Off white creamy head stayed well on a ruby red, still still body. Well balanced aroma - smells really smooth. Over ripe fruit, wood & orange. Medium to full bodied, oily, minimal carbonation & cloying. Heavy on the hops with bitter citrus, pith, sweet malt, red berries & a woody finish.

473 ml can. Enjoyed at Austin, TX. Pours an orange golden colour with a white slightly foamy head. Aroma of orange, dank hops, caramel and resin. Flavour of heavy dank bitterness, orange, strong resin, caramel and some herbal notes. Full bodied. Long lingering bitter finish. Great!

Can. Cloudy orange with frothy white head. Subtle hop aroma. Smooth malt with nice hop balance. Nice dry finish. Nothing special, but nothing wrong either. Very solid IIPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tall boy can from ABV. Pours a clear orange hue with a small white head. A light citrus fruity nose. Big sweet hops, fresh, oranges, resinous, almost IIIPA like sweet hops, light biscuit, bitterness. Solid.

UPDATED: AUG 23, 2017 Clear red orange pour with an off white head. Great lacing. Aroma is caramel, pine, grapefruit and toast. Taste is citrus rind, toffee, tropical, toast and pine. Pretty firm bitterness that lingers. Medium body.

DocJitsu (2024) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - AUG 19, 2017
Pours a dark honey-golden with a fat, well-retaining brown-cream head. Orange and pineapple on the nose with a hint or two of alcohol. Flavors are more bland than the nose would suggest. Alcohol bitters the beer relatively quickly.

The beer’s peach appearance with a fine white head which has significant lacing. Aroma is a bit subdued for an IPA. Piney resiny hops. Spritzy mouthfeel and yummy resin like hops. Galaxy hops are one of my more favorite hop varieties. This is very drinkable for 8%. Its a pleasure and it would be easy to knock back a few of these.

Bottle from Total Wine, South Richmond. Pours murky orange-brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is pine, resin, grapefruit, toast, licorice. Flavor is pine, grapefruit rind, resin. A bit of a sweetness in there that fades. It feels tired.
