Pours an opaque very dark brown (almost black) in color with some dark amber highlights and light to moderate amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a finger and a half tall very dark tan head that reduces to a patchy thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer with a thicker ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed. Light to moderate aromas of toasted and roasted malts with additional aromas of pecan, brown sugar, molasses, and caramel. Very light notes of chocolate, coffee, and cinnamon which grow in strength as the beer warms up. Upfront there is a moderate amount of roasted and toasted malts that then fade into the flavors of toasted pecans. After that, there are some very light notes of cinnamon, molasses, and coffee. Throughout there are some light notes of brown sugar and chocolate. Light amounts of bitterness in the finish which fades quickly. On the lighter side of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Lightly creamy. Overall this was an enjoyable beer and I'm glad that it was not overly sweet as I feared it might be when called a pecan pie porter - there is a lot of potential to go over the top with sweetness. Pretty easy to drink and the alcohol is well hidden. Pretty well!

Good. Thick with lingering aftertaste. I greatly enjoyed it. Not much pecan pie flavor I expected though.

Pours pitch black with a large brown head. Smells nutty, hazelnut and hints of pecan, with some solid roasted malt character. Taste is hazelnut, brown sugar sweetness, and a subtle hint of roast. Medium-bodied with a slick texture and soft fizzy mouth-carbonation, Clown Shoes Genghis Pecan Pecan Pie Porter finishes with a slight sweet nutty tingle. Smoky aroma has notes of caramel, malt - and yes, pecan. Pours a rich, warm sable with a thick and persistent light tan head. Rich flavor fills the mouth with brown sugar, caramel, pecan and malt notes plus hints of chocolate and roast quality coffee. May be a whisper of licorice in there, too. Fairly sweet, but not too much. Smooth, firm texture has a good amount of fizz and very nice body. A nutty conquest indeed!
