Aroma: Nutty, roasted aroma with hints of soy sauce.
Appearance: Dark brown, almost black, with a chocolaty tan head.
Taste: Medium sweetness with hints of bitterness at the edges.
Palate: Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, long finish.
Overall: It’s a rich, robust beer. I’m not sure I taste the pecan pie, but there is a slightly nutty flavor that adds to this beer. Really well done. DocJitsu (2026) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - DEC 16, 2013
Pours an opaque, very dark brown color with some cola-ruby glints around the bottom edge of the glass when held to the light. Creamy smooth, one and a half finger, dark taupe head is noted. The head has good retention, creating a good-looking beer for a little longer. Sweet sorghum, a little char, and some date on the nose. Thicker mouthfeel with a slightly drying texture. I got a hint of the pecan pie in my third pull, about two thirds of the way just before the beer finishes. Mashed potatoes at times. The tastes are blended well, but fat is noted to be expressed just a touch more than others. A bit of a woody flavor is detected at times. Not barrel wood, but saw dust you taste in the air after cutting with a saw. There is a smoky dimension as well. jjgmd (2228) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - DEC 10, 2013
Bomber. Pours a dark brownish black pour with a sudsy head. Nose is nutty and malty and quite pleasant. Taste is sweet chocolate with nutty notes, full of flavor ! Taste is light and not heavy on the palate. Finishes with a sweet chocolate dessert like finish. Nice porter. Quaff Score 8 / 10 zgaier (1962) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - DEC 10, 2013
Pours a dark brown with a brown head and nutty, chocolate aroma. Taste is sweet, lots of nuts and pecan flavor with burnt notes, milk chocolate, and roasted malt leading to a smooth, nutty finish. Nice brew alexsdad06 (10672) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - DEC 9, 2013
22 oz. bottle from Dutch’s. Pours a dark cola brown color with a small fine beige head. The aroma and flavor have a decent chocolate opening, nutty, some roasted malts and earthy bitterness. The flavor falls off a bit toward the finish, ultimately ending with some ashy character. There is a mild sweetness that comes through. Very smooth and light to medium bodied. It just seems to miss on some key parts by a little bit.

Pours dark black with a thick dark brown head. Aroma is light chocolate and a subtle nutty hit. Taste is slightly nutty and sweet, molasses, pretty bland really, watery thin body.... meh. BeerGuy84 (17) - - DEC 3, 2013
To start, don’t know if something was wrong with the bottle I got but I did not get much pecan from this at all. It is a good base beer though. Rich black color with low carbonation. Sweet smelling bready notes to the aroma. Very slight general nuttiness, roasted bitterness, some toast. KingRao (11) - - NOV 30, 2013
Good. Thick with lingering aftertaste. I greatly enjoyed it. Not much pecan pie flavor I expected though.

Guiness Glass from Glass Bottle
Beer had a lovely black pour, and nice short brown head. The aromas ere of lovely roasted malts, and nuts on the finish.
The beer had a smooth texture with a gentle finish on the pallet. It was well balanced with the flavors, not to much pecan, but just enough to compliment the slight roasted coffee finish. jstonerock24 (142) - Englewood, Ohio, USA - NOV 29, 2013
Pours black with a nice light brown head. Very roasted nutty flavor and aroma with a rich sweet finish. Great tasting porter
