Good with a twist. Roasted malt and wood or earthy aroma. Dark brown and murky. Lighter than expected palate. Smooth with good carbonation. Standard roasted flavors of a Porter but deeper and more dry. A hint of wood and earth touched by pecan, which I found more subtle. Enjoyed it. 650ml brown bottle, label featuring a Mongolian warrior fighting off turkeys with pie, poured into a Tulip glass. Appearance is a dark nearly black mahogany colored with a medium large foamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate and brown sugar. Flavours of roasted malts, brown sugar, dark chocolate, rye sourdough bread and a hint of nutty notes. Taste is medium-heavy sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium-full bodied, thick texture and average carbonation. Clown Shoes Genghis Pecan Pie Porter is decent overall, it’s too sweet and the pecans are barely detectable in the flavour. rarbring (2294) - Linköping, SWEDEN - AUG 9, 2014

Pours almost black, with a brown head.
Roasted, spicy aroma, chocolate, licorice, hops, coffee, maybe faint hints of nuts (?), tar, mint.
Off-dry, full bodied, mid bitterness, creamy CO2.
Roasted, spicy, hoppy taste, licorice, mocha, herbs, coffee, chocolate, caramel, slightly earthy.
Well balanced and smooth, long finish with notes of licorice and eucalyptus (!). I don’t really get the pecan flavours, though. (2014-08-05)
