COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our new Pecan Pie Porter no longer uses extract, but rather brown sugar and pecans roasted by friends at The Gallows in Boston. Buddy Hadry, a rep at Bella Vista in PA, gave me the name for this beer, the second Pecan beer now that he has named. Thank you, Buddy!

Clown Shoes Genghis Pecan Porter 7% 2013 pitch black pour with a tan head. Umami savoury rich darkness. Smooth medium body with soft round carbonation. Roasty, chocolate, a bit nutty sweet & smooth plus pecan hiding in the wings. Good stuff.

22oz bottle in an English pint. Pours very dark brown with a lacy, light tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, some chocolate, dark sugar and pecans, and light hops with hints of smokiness. Flavor about the same, with a nice blend of everything and no overly artificial flavors. Average texture. An interesting porter.

22oz bottle courtesy of radarsock. Cheers, Ander! Pours a hazy porter brown with a tan head. Nose is roasted pecans, some light nuttiness, dark chocolate, and roasted malt. Flavor follows with roasted malt, some light nuttiness that almost comes off as peanuts, some earthy hops, and some dryness toward the finish. Interesting porter overall; medium to full in body and nutty.

22 oz bottle served in a Belgian snifter. Poured dark brown, nearly black, with a light brown head. The head soon reduces to a durable partial coat and ring. Moderate lacing. Smells sweet and delicious. Some pecan pie filling with cinnamon. Moderately strong. Only faint grains. Less sweet than it smells, there’s a solid layer of medium and dark roasted grains with a bit of caramel and dark chocolate. A hint of roasted pecans, but wuite faint, as is the coffee in the finish. Near equal sweet/bitter by the finish. Medium body; very good carbonation level; very smooth. Dry finish. O: Lightly boozy nose and feel, but still drinks like 4-5% ABV brew. A distinct, remarkably smooth Amer. Porter. Recommended.

Bottle. Not much pecan in the nose. Just kind of brown ish. A hint of sugar. Taste is similar but has a light roasty character to it. Ok but not something I would think had pecans in it or seek out again

Bottle courtesy of ”Knä” (non-RB). Pours blackish brown with a creamy and frothy mocha head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is tiny sweet and tiny malty with roasted malts, dark bread, walnuts, hay, liquorice, coffee, bitter chocolate and soil. Taste is slightly sweet, slightly bitter and slightly malty with roasted malts, caramel, dark bread, hay, soil, chocolate, coffee, walnuts, maple syrup and liquorice. Mouthfeel is soft, round, very tiny watery and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, slightly bitter and slightly malty with roasted malts, dark bread, coffee, walnuts, hay, soil, maple syrup and liquorice. Quite good…
