COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our new Pecan Pie Porter no longer uses extract, but rather brown sugar and pecans roasted by friends at The Gallows in Boston. Buddy Hadry, a rep at Bella Vista in PA, gave me the name for this beer, the second Pecan beer now that he has named. Thank you, Buddy!

Cola colored pour, tan head. Spice, light pecan notes, roasted malt, bready aromas. Flavor is sweet, a tad watery, some pecan pie spice notes, maybe a hint of maple. Ok.

DocLock (10970) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 16, 2012
Bomber from Capone’s. Pours turbid dark blackish brown with 1-finger tan head. Nose is black patent malt, nuts, cacao. Tastes rich, with a malty flavor up front (black patent), nuts, cacao, brown sugar, hops, and molasses. This one is rich and dense, but I wanted more nutty sweetness. As it is, it isn’t bad, but comes off like a nut brown ale/dry stout hybrid with extra hops and patent malt.

cubs (10693) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 2, 2013
Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a dep brown/black appearance with a dark brown head. Anise, aramel, turtle dessert, chocolate, earthy, roasty malty, slightly grassy/herbal hoppy aroma. Roasty, slightly burnt, big anise, dark chocolate, slightly nutty, quite earthy flavor that finishes a bit watery. Kind of thin with a bit of bitterness on the finish but still kind of watery.

alexsdad06 (10640) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - DEC 9, 2013
22 oz. bottle from Dutch’s. Pours a dark cola brown color with a small fine beige head. The aroma and flavor have a decent chocolate opening, nutty, some roasted malts and earthy bitterness. The flavor falls off a bit toward the finish, ultimately ending with some ashy character. There is a mild sweetness that comes through. Very smooth and light to medium bodied. It just seems to miss on some key parts by a little bit.

DuffMan (10602) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 15, 2013
Bottle, the tenth in our tasting lineup of the Beers Of Fall. Dark brown body with a tan head, lacy retreat. Aroma is sweet chocolate and caramel. Flavour is pleasantly malty, milk chocolate and roasted nuts in nice balance. Very tasty.

3.9
marcus (10571) - Sacramento, California, USA - OCT 3, 2013

22 oz. bottle shared by b3shine- thanks again, Beau! Pours a deep brown color with a small beige head. The aroma has some definite nuttiness but I never would have pegged it as pecan; also chocolate, toast, earth, fudge, and brown sugar. Flavor of dark chocolate, toast, earth, and brown sugar. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a malty mouthfeel. Good porter but doesn’t quite hit the mark.
