COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our new Pecan Pie Porter no longer uses extract, but rather brown sugar and pecans roasted by friends at The Gallows in Boston. Buddy Hadry, a rep at Bella Vista in PA, gave me the name for this beer, the second Pecan beer now that he has named. Thank you, Buddy!

Draft at Barcade. Super dark brown pour with light head, very nice lacing sheets. Notes of caramel malts, light roast, milk chocolate, light hops, and coffee. Not much pecan pie in this one for me. Medium body. Just ok.

Not sure where I bought this, probably at a danish bottle stop. Smell of chocolate, flowers and dark malts, fudge and caramel. Similar taste, roasted and toasted with some coffee notes. There is a chemical note that is a bit disturbing.

Aroma is yeast, nutty/roasted malts and spices. The flavor is nutty malts, a definite sweetness, an undercurrent of the roasted pecans and a mix of tart and smooth in the finish.

Bottle, dark brown with some good creamy foam, mostly burnt roast notes but after the fullers vintage 2012 I just had that is a winner, wheres the rest of the pecan pie

Bottle: The aroma consists of chocolate, molasses, light caramel, burnt notes, coffee, and a touch of nuts. It pours a dark brown with some faint orange highlights and a two finger khaki head. Theres a soapy webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with dark chocolate and molasses. The finish has some burnt notes, roasted coffee, some roasted nuts, and a hint of alcohol. Its medium bodied with mild carbonation and a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Overall, I got some nuttiness, but I cant say this makes me think of a pecan pie. Its more reminiscent of an Imperial Stout than a Porter.

Hazelnut, not pecan, and coffee nose. Mahogany, medium tan head, good lacing. Creamy mouthfeel. Char and pecan flavor, but not overly bitter. A little bit of coffee in the finish. Very nicely done. The name and label are wonderfully campy. The label features a likeness of Genghis Khan heroically hurling pecan pies at attacking turkeys that wearing the obligatory clown shoes. This bottle will be added to my highly selective collection.
