Bomber. Poured very near black with a creamy, well-retained beige head. The aroma picked up burnt dark chocolate and black malts surrounded by a whole heap of fresh grapefruit and pine hoppage.. warm peppery and earthy accents.. nice. The flavor found lots of bitter black roast joined by bitter pine and lesser citrus hops.. fresh and lively, but just too bitter for me. Medium-bodied, scratchy, and roasty on the palate.. very bitter.. this was aiight. Jblauvs (1357) - Chester, Vermont, USA - OCT 3, 2012

Pours is a brown black with a frothy beige head. Aroma is marijuana dank hop and chocolate roast. None of the off flavors mentioned in previous ratings, but perhaps the bottles are off. Creamy mouthfeel with a bitter and slightly dry finish. Flavor is light chocolate roast, with a resinous, dank hoppiness. Simple beer, but tasty nonetheless. September 30, 2011 with blankboy, garthicus, gregclow, jerc and mabel. Bomber c/o blankboy. Ruby-brown with a fairly large frothy beige head. Aroma is quite bitter - resin and dry herbal bitterness, with some weird raisin fruity sweetness; tart and roasty. Taste is almost harsh - earthy and intensely, aggressively grittily and generically bitter; off-putting. Average body, hugely astringent, with a long OTT harsh palate-shredding bitter finish .... didn’t dig it. nsquishee (641) - Richfield, Minnesota, USA - SEP 5, 2012
Pours dark brown-black with a light tan, creamy head. Aroma of roasted malts, plums, chocolate, and anise. Tastes creamy sweet and finishes with a medium bitterness. Flavors of roasted barley, hops, chocolate malts, and molasses. Very good black IPA. shroud0fdoom (151) - Maryland, USA - SEP 2, 2012
Overall there isn’t anything offensive in flavor, it just reminds me of an aggressively hopped porter. Earthy dank and citrus hops are present, roasted, smoked malt with a nice chocolate note dominates the backend. Long earthy, danky bitterness carries for a while. Creamy light mouthfeel. Not the best ale around but far from the worst. Worthy of a try.

Pours a dark brown with an extremely thick head. The head is preventing me from getting much of the nose to it. Decent level of hoppiness, but it’s awfully carbonated. Palidor19 (3194) - Brandon, Florida, USA - AUG 22, 2012
has areal bite to it. the black malts has a very pungent flavor. the hops are extremely very herbal with a strong bite. its quite extraordinary nick76 (4403) - Tampa, Florida, USA - AUG 22, 2012
The aroma is very toasted with burnt malt, chocolate, coffee, molasses, and lots of hops. The appearance is dark brown with a small head. The taste is like the aroma and astringent. The palate is smooth. Overall this is an average black IPA. lamas (1661) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 17, 2012
22 oz. bottle. Bottled: 7/7/11. Pours a deep mahogany with a smallish tan head. Cocoa, black coffee, dark chocolate, light caramel, some pine, and a little citrus in the aroma. Thin to medium-bodied and fairly crisp on the way down. Chocolate cake, black coffee, and some light caramel start things off taste-wise. Plenty of bittering grapefruits and citrus rinds at the end. Quite dry. I’m not much of a fan of the style, but this is good. drfabulous (8808) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - AUG 17, 2012
22 ounce thanks to Matt. Chocolate and roasty. Big carbonation. Bitterness in nose and taste. Pine throughout.
