22 oz. bottle shared by Jeff- thanks! Pours a cloudy amber-brown with a small, uneven tan head. Aroma of citrusy hops, roast, chocolate, soap, and earth. Flavor of earthy hops, tobacco leaves, mint, orange peel, nuts, and chocolate. Light-medium bodied, with a bitter, roasty mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Solid black IPA. hoosiers1994 (685) - Maryland, USA - OCT 29, 2011
Bottle pours a deep dark brown with minimal light tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, smoke, grapefruit. Taste is roasted coffee on the front with soe burnt toast and grapefruit coming in late. Can taste that amarillo for sure. Body is medium with a long dry and bitter finish. Not a huge black IPA fan, but this one delivers well. ben4321 (6840) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - OCT 23, 2011

This was a very solid black IPA. I enjoyed it quite a bit. A nicely made and quite drinkable beer.
nice tingly pine hop character. black ipa moderate in power with some roasted malt and chocolate. been done before and done well here. a bit earthy for some balance. a little sweet and roasted. reggiedunlop (3726) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 14, 2011
Pours black with a thick creamy tan head...nice lacing and retention. Aroma has some chocolate, nuttiness, and spicy hop notes. Flavor is a bit more hoppy than the aroma suggests...spicy...with nice roasty chocolate notes and a bit of nuttiness...commercial description is spot on for my palate. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is roasty and bitter...dry.

Overheard: "This is one of those beers that the more I drink it, the thirstier I get."

Bomber via trade. Poured out a medium density pitch black body with an average size foamy beige head. Aroma of dark burnt malts, charcoal, chocolate, citrus, grapefruit and hop cones. Fuller bodied with strong carbonation and a bitter bite on the finish. Flavor of dark toast and lots of citrus rind. Good stuff. mar (5457) - Dallas, Texas, USA - OCT 10, 2011
