This 22 oz bottle was courtesy of Strykzone via a trade. Thanks Dave. Bottling date of 2/20/12. Pours jet black with a really robust tan head and great lacing rings. Nose is resinous hops and chocolate malts. Medium body. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is roasted malts with pine and citrus hops. Dry finish with light bitterness. Very tasty and good for the style. TheGent (657) - , Massachusetts, USA - JUL 6, 2011
So i was just looking for a simple nice beer to enjoy tonight and this well out did my expectations. Bomber poured into a pint glass. deep black color with some brown edges in the light. Light tan one finger head. The aroma is a pine and brown sugar. I think of it as molasses spice cake with burnt edges. A lovely sweet smell. The taste is a little roasted malt with bitterness and some oily orange zest just kicking in at the end. Taste fades fast. Refreshing for such an aromatic and flavorful beer. very slight linger of bitter in the finish. Best clown shoes beer I have had. llcooldave (1226) - San Antonio, Texas, USA - OCT 11, 2011
Pours black with a soapy caramel cola colored head. Roasted malt aroma followed my some citrusy pine. Decent flavor balance of roasted malt, coffee, dark cocoa and piney, minty hops. Overall, for my first sampling of Clown Shoes, its a winner! bu11zeye (13239) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - NOV 21, 2011

Pours a nice brown color with a 1 finger head. The aroma is a little roasty with notes of hops and earthyness to it. It also has a bit of chocolate in there. The taste is just amazing. It has citrus piney hops up front with a nice malt smoothness in the back. Very easy to drink. This beer is a winner. taphandle (1135) - Texas, USA - DEC 6, 2011
Very dark - good thick tan head. Lots of chocolate malt in the aroma. Taste is tons of dark malt - chocolate and coffee with what must be a ton of hops to almost balance it. There’s so much malt for those hops to overcome, but it can’t quite do it, and that makes it a really nice beer. DalzAle (2040) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - DEC 15, 2011
Bottle bonus thanks to fredandboboflo! Thick dark black pour, lasting 1/4 inch creamy head and an aroma of muddled hops and dark roasted malt. Flavor is strong medicinal herbs, spruce and dry burnt roasted dark malt. Not bad(unique and definitely different), would buy if I had access to it craftbeerdesign (2254) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - DEC 21, 2011
