Pours black in color. Aroma is of malts, chocolate, coffee, and molasses. Flavor is the same. Nice body. Leaves a roasted malt finish. This is a black ale, not a black ipa. fonefan (49299) - VestJylland, DENMARK - MAR 6, 2012

Bottle @ Too many Geuze’s - only one toilet , Ulfborg 2012. Brown with a nice beige head that lasts. Very hoppy aroma of citrus, combined with very roasted malts and some caramel. Fruity taste of hops, roasted malt. Roasted ,bitter finish. sulphursouls (42) - SWITZERLAND - APR 28, 2014
Batch from 02/2012. It poured a frothy, creamy light head which lasted quite a while. The body is as advertised, black. The aroma was a light malt roast, slightly herbed, with a touch of caramel. The taste was a lovely roast, a smooth, thin, well carbonated body with a medium bitter aftertaste. The aftertaste was really pleasant, often reminding of a crisp coffee. beerbastard (844) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - AUG 18, 2011
The nose has a good balance of hop and malt. The first taste shows a dark malt bitterness along with the hop flavor. The palate is a little thin.
Smooth dry finish. This will work as a session beer for me. Very astringent, because of the dark roasted malts and hops. Love the picture, and not offended by it. johnnnniee (4312) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 2, 2011
UPDATED: SEP 13, 2011 New 4 pack Black IPA, 8 dollars, yes please.
Pours a solid black with a frothy creamy khaki head that sticks around forever a leaves lots of sticky lace. Smell is piney and citrusy with hints of garlic and a solid roasted grain backbone. Smells like a hoppy porter, but these two style lines are so blurry who the hell knows. Taste is roasted coffee with a mineral edge. Pine and citrus come out to cut through the roast and almost succeed. Mineral earthy roasty finish lingers after every sip. Moderate carbonation and body with a resinous acridic mouthfeel. Decent black IPA but really straddling the porter line with this one. I’m a bit disappointed that the artwork didn’t make it onto the 12oz bottle label, oh well. Deep brown pour with lots of sticky tan head and lacing. Aromas of roasted malt and pine hops. Flavor is slightly sweet with a good amount of bitterness - good balance of hops and roasted malt. Pretty good Black IPA.
