Bomber shared by Marcus. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate with chili notes. And alcohol. Med + body. Flavor is chocolate and chili. Chili is not too strong, but nice. Goes well with Wild Boar dry saqusage. marcus (10227) - Sacramento, California, USA - APR 28, 2014
Bottle from Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours dark brown with a transient tan head and a chocolate and treacle aroma. There is a rich chocolate and dark molasses flavor with a bourbon finish. The chili pepper is mild but adds a nice layer. travita (5006) - Dallas, Texas, USA - APR 26, 2014
Bottle. The look is dark, black in color, and has a tan head. The smell is bourbon, wood, alcohol, sweet, hot, and rich. The taste is much the same hot alcohol bourbon smell, and not bad. jkwalking05 (4740) - Arlington, Texas, USA - APR 26, 2014
22 oz bomber. Black in color with a decent tan head. Aroma is of old attic, molasses, smoke, oak, bourbon, vanilla, and caramel. Taste is of oak, caramel, vanilla, light smoke, dark chocolate, smoked peppers, and cinnamon. alexsdad06 (10421) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 20, 2014
22 oz bottle shared with drsordr. Pours dark brown to black in color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma and flavor have a nice mix of roasted malts, chocolate, spices, smooth bourbon, vanilla, a hint of dark fruit, wood with a nice alcohol burn. I enjoy the Clown Shoes stuff I’ve had quite a bit.

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2014 This beer took me by surprise. A definite hint of bourbon with some chocolate and just the right amount of pepper as to not turn this into some freak show specialty beer. This is at the top of my 2nd tier of stouts. Considering the Bourbon County?s, KBS and Surly Darkness are on the top tier I?d say that says something great about this beer. Bomber. Blackish brown with a thin light brown head. Intense chocolate aroma with vanilla, milk, and light pepper. Taste is very sweet. Body is heavy with an oily feel. I was hoping for a greater pepper presence, but the bold chocolate flavor was nice.
