Our boy, Miracle Mike, represents the good we hope to do with the Clown Shoes Minor Miracle Fund. A percentage of the profits from this juicy, sessionable IPA will be used to help real people (and maybe a puppy or two).

12 oz. bottle. Pours hazy dark amber with a large foamy sudsy off white head that slowly settles to a film and sticky lacing. Aroma has mild bitter hops presence with strong caramel malt all around, somewhat sweet. Taste is light bitterness and bready with mild spice and caramel malt. I get a strange meaty bread like flavor in the finish. Palate is thin to medium with a mild spice and dry finish.

On tap at Hops and Pie poured a clear golden amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of biscuit, orange zest, tangerine, pink grapefruit and pine. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, orange zest, grapefruit and a hint of pine with a crisp dry moderatly bitter finish.

22 oz. bottle shared by jmborggren. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a big fluffy white head. The aroma and flavor had sweet malts, herbal notes, a floral soapy character, some orange citrus juice with mild bitterness. This was a bit strange to me.

Aroma is really malty, there is a touch of citrus hops in it also. Flavor is also malt forward but not overly, taste some grapefruit and citrus also. I wouldn’t call this a English ipa but it is very malt forward. Actually quite flavorful for being a sessionable ipa. Another great beer from clown shoes!!!

22 oz. bottle shared by jmborggren- thanks again, Jeremy! Pours a mostly clear, deep golden color with a big, foamy off-white head that laces the glass. Aroma of herbal, citrusy hops, sweet malts, and some bitter soapiness. The flavor isn’t as bitter, with notes of peach, pale and sweet malts, dried herbs, and citrus. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a mouthfeel that starts juicy and finishes dry. I liked this better than the others, apparently.

Bomber to snifter (thanks jmborggren). Looks solid; malty though. An orangish-brown with ample off-white head that slowly dissipates into lacing. Smells strange; soapy with some malt and hops (in that order). Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Eh.

22oz bottle. Bottled on 05/2012. Orange color, great lace, white head. Smells of fresh green hops. Sweet pale malts. Sessionable flavor. Loads of green hop taste. Finishes with sharp pine. Very good. (3646)

Bomber from greens. Cloudy orange color with frothy white head. Nice deity aroma and flavors. Nice sweetness working as well to make this a very flavorful and almost candy like drink.

Aroma is pretty awesome one flavor NAND a aroma only for this tangerine. Makes me want to try their tangerine brew. Mild enjoyable beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Location: 22 oz bottle from Total Wine-McLean, 1/30/13

Aroma: The nose has some sweet grapefruit, orange, some herbal notes, and a bit of tea
Appearance: Pours a hazed dark orange color with a thick frothy of white head and fairly heavy lace
Flavor: The taste is a little sweet, it has bready and herbal flavors, and a medium dry bitterness
Palate: The body medium, it has a fairly creamy feel, a bit of stickiness, and a mid-dry finish
Overall Impression: This is a pretty solid IPA, it is not the best in the style, but it is more than adequate. I would certainly drink this one again. There’s some pretty good stuff going on here, and plus, it is (partially) for a good cause!
