COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Muffin Top combines the attributes of a Belgian Tripel with a huge burst of American hops. Intense flavors from the Belgian yeast, reminiscent of candied fruits, mix with the hop bitterness and sweet orange peel to create a unique take on a Belgian-Style ale.

Tap at Sugar Maple. Unfiltered orange-tan. Foamy, lacy off-white head. Hot damn, thats a good Belgian IIPA, maybe one of the best Ive had. Smooth and clean, heavy on the tropical tones. World Class, this is quite phenomenal. Rich and big, but sublime lemon -lime tones. Beastly, like a good Belgian should be. Spot on.

From a bomber. Pours hazy amber brown with a frothy white head. Tastes bitter and tart, like raisins, tobacco, alcohol, and ash. Medium body and carbonation. Smells slightly tart, like raisins and bread.

Bottle. Pours clear, vibrant amber with thick, creamy off-white head. Aroma is cereal and biscuit malts, floral hops, belgian yeast, citrus fruit, and some spice. Flavor is a balance of dry bready malts and fresh grassy hop bitterness with some grapefruit and citrus esters and light spice; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation.

Growler from J.U.G.S. Caramel color, with a big, tan head. The aroma is rye, big caramel and malts, light resinous hops, bananas, and light spiciness. The flavor is sweet and malty, with a pretty hefty hop bitterness. Heavy body, sticky, and chalky and malty. Overall, this is a very strong, very malty, and very hoppy beer. The balance and palate is lacking, unfortunately.

Hazy deep amber beer with a big fluffy pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth but with fine prickly carbonation. Light creamy malt. Mild minerals. Sweet malt but with a bitterish yeast. Slightly resinous tangerine and orange. Finishes semi dry with a mild peel bitter linger. Comes together quite well. Drinkable.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Kevin. Orange like a nectarine. A bruised nectarine. Cloudy and muddled; yellow tinted, soapy and lavish head leaves behind great lace and takes forever to sink. Aroma is peppery... Lots of white pepper. Ashy hops, leafy, some minty bubblegum comes through with clove and fruity esters; must be that Belgian yeast. Taste is is minty, clove, phenolic to the core; Belgian yeast shines here. Chunky, gummy wintergreen with some extra pepper on the back. Ashy hop bitterness. A little too phenolic and a touch medicinal on the back end. Relatively low for the size, though. Medium bodied, not quite syrupy but relatively plentiful. Mid-high carbonation. Hope you like your Belgian ales spicy and minty.
