COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Muffin Top combines the attributes of a Belgian Tripel with a huge burst of American hops. Intense flavors from the Belgian yeast, reminiscent of candied fruits, mix with the hop bitterness and sweet orange peel to create a unique take on a Belgian-Style ale.

Beer pours a hazy brownish straw and has a thick creamy cap floating on top. Fist impression is a big MEH! Some big hops in the nose with lemon and vinnilla. Beer is starting to grow on me. Taste is the same maybe a soapy finish. Hopity hop hop aru. Lemon and banana / wheat really show in the finish. Beer is growing on me........ ya I can drink this........... a lot. Perfumey and bitter all at once.

1pt 6lf oz bottle from Brewdog online store. Clear coppery orange-amber colour with an off-white foam head and aroma of citrus zest & yeasty funk. Taste is malt, caramel, toffee, earthy, with some yeasty notes, orange marmalade, citrus grapefuit and resiny hoppy grassy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry earthy bitter slightly boozy finish. Nicely drinkable.

I must not have a great. A good bottle based on the other reviews. The beer in my glass seems oxidized. It has a caramel sweet, hoppy honey marmalade aroma. It smells sweet. The flavor follows the same lines of the aroma with a more pronounced hop bitterness. One reviewer mentioned soapy for the mouthfeel and I think it has similarities. The beer is somewhat overcarbonated. Which leaves a slight hop bite on the tongue. The alcohol doesnt seem to show it self at first but by the 3rd sip, trust me its there. Personally to many contradictions for this "style". It may play out great in the winter months. I would buy again but would certainly try it again if offered.

Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of tangerines and oranges. The taste is as expected from a Belgian style beer, a sweetness together with the hoppy taste and a dry bitter finish. I caught some alcohol notes as well, even if it is well hidden. The mouthfeel is rather sharp and slightly soapy. Bold in its style.

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2015 Restrained spicy, grassy, floral, citrus aroma in an hazy amber pour. Wonderfully complex flavours makes this a benchmark of the American take on the style. Makes up in taste what it might lack in subtlety compared to the best of the Belgian brews.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2015 Cloudy and highly aromatic. Flavor is hoppy. Expect this brew to set you straight as the alcoholic content is high.

Cloudy Amber with lasting foamy beige Lacy head; aroma slight hop and yeasty combo; flava is unique blend of hops yeast and malt- this is described as a Belgian Tripel IPA- they absolutely nailed it if that is what they were trying to do; feels medium to thick slight fuzzy foam; finishes grainy tangy and slightly hoppy then bitter

bottle @ Vino Bellissimo / Lima OH --- Murky dark orange amber color, thick frothy white head, straps of lace. Good aroma of sweet malt and citrus. Taste is strong malt and toffee that moves smoothly thru a swallow that includes citrus hops and warming alcohol. The hops are interesting, but not nearly enough to offset the malt. A potent brew, quite complex, and nice to drink. Highly recommended.
