This is Blaecorn Unidragon made with Beechwood Smoked malt, which adds a natural meaty note (there is no actual meat in the brew). Aged 100% in bourbon barrels. Little piggies run, squeal to the heavens: Clown Shoes wishes you luck.

Pours an opaque, very dark brown with cola colored glints around the bottom edge of the glass when held to the light. A half-finger, alternating smooth with bubbly, mocha colored head sits atop this beast. IT’s a beauty. Coffee, char smoke, and Crème Brule aromas. Mouthfeel is thick, smooth, somewhat coating, and a little scrubby. Rich flavors of smoky coffee, light plastic, vanilla, and oak. Some bourbon is noted in the background. Awesome stuff! Addendum: With spicy food, the booziness gets expressed much more.

Black pour with almost no head. Aroma of alcohol and roasted malt. Flavor is more alcohol and roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, and mild chocolate.

Bottle share taster. Almost black with brown edges, tan cap reduces quick. Aroma of molasses, chocolate, vanilla. Taste is sharp bitterness.

Bomber from Capones. Black with a brown head that completely fades once it has a chance to settle. Light smoked meat, oak, vanilla, peat, bourbon, roasted malts, some leather, a sharp alcohol burn, and almost some chilli spice; full body, moderate carbonation, some chilli burn going down the gullet, very thick when you swish it, almost feel chunky (not good) but still a nice tasty beer if you like a little spice.

Black colored pour. Small tan head. Little bit of lacing. Slight bourbon aroma with chocolate and vanilla. Taste is a malty version of the same. Pretty good. Needs more bourbon. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Is this the same beer everyone else has been raving about? The bourbon is very up front. It’s most of what I taste. I detect a little smoke flavor and burnt chocolate. It’s very harsh. I don’t understand why this beer is so much poorer than the blaecorn unidragon which is a solid 4/5 in my book. I am very disappointed. I was looking forward to this and it became a $13 drain pour.

arminjewell (9584) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - NOV 4, 2013
Pour out of 22 oz bottle, thick black pour with creamy tan head, aroma is pretty nice once you get passed the big smoke character, hints of dark fruits, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, oak and bourbon, hints of slight spice notes come through as well, but the smoke is a bit much. Taste is a bit smoky, charred, campfire like, slight hints of dark chocolate, touch of oak, earth, bourbon, and spice, sweet chocolate, roast, and coffee, hints of vanilla, finishing smoky, roasted.

Art (3217) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 30, 2013
Pours a deep brown black with a slight brown head. Aroma of roasted malts with a slight smokey aroma. The taste follows with a sweet boozy bourbon flavor. Not much heat to this.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 4/17/2013. Pours dense pitch black color with a small dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass with some alcohol legs. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, smoked meat, light char, toast, toffee, vanilla, oak, clove, bourbon, and roasted earthiness; with a bit of booziness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of roasted/smoked malt and barrel notes; with good strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, smoke, char, toast, toffee, vanilla, oak, clove, bourbon, and roasted earthiness. Fair amount of roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, smoke, char, toast, toffee, vanilla, oak, clove, bourbon, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity and balance of dark/roasted malt and barrel flavors; with a nice roasted/sweetness/barrel flavor balance with no cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very creamy, slick, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is fairly well hidden with only a moderate warming present after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent barrel aged imperial stout! All around great complexity and balance of dark/roasted/smoked malt and barrel flavors; and fairly smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.
