Level 42 Bottleshare and no Mark King in sight. Thanks to Leighton. Clear amber - brown beer, patchy pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry with decent fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, decent dark chocolate. Mild dark fruits. Smooth finish. Spicy linger. Not bad. Barreling and smoke well buried.
Bottle. Dark brown color, small brown head. Aroma of peated coffee grounds, vanilla. Taste is smokey vanilla, bitter cocoa, whiskey. Nice in small amounts. Leighton (21083) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 12, 2016
Bottle shared in London - sourced in the US. Pours deep brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds ashy roast, brownies, dried berries. Medium to big sweet flavour with oily vanilla, baking cocoa, mor brownies, a little scorched earth. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming and oily in the finish, with rich chocolate, more vanilla, brownies, light booze, dried berries. Great stuff. Tap at the Hay Merchant, Houston, 21/05/13.
Mid black with a thin tan head.
Nose is dark malt, boozey hit, sugars, dark toffee, light smoke.
Taste comprises roast malt, wood, liqourice, dark chocolate, sugars, aniseed, bourbon notes.
Full bodied with warming alchocol in a bitter roasted booze’o’clock curtain call.
Decent enough Impy stout but a little over boozey, the balance isn’t quite there but I enjoyed this more than the standard Blaecorn, the BA seems to have tempered some of the booze. jtclockwork (16436) - , New Jersey, USA - AUG 22, 2013
Bottle. Pours very dark brown with tan head. Nose and taste of bourbon, scorched wood, smoke, burnt chocolate malt, tarred malt, burnt vanilla and caramelized brown sugar. Finishes a touch boozy bourbon/burnt roast chocolate. Medium body.

On tap @ Haven Gastropub. Black in color with a small tan head. Somewhat smokey, but a decent bourbon and vanilla sweetness. Ash, roast, and coffee. Cocoa powder, earth, and a slight meatiness. The flavor is also moderately smokey, but not overwhelming. Bourbon, vanilla, roast, and earth. Cocoa powder, coffee, and some savory/meaty notes. Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown/black with a slight dark tan head that left rapidly. Huge chocolate aroma with hints of bourbon and smoke. Full bodied - really. Flavor starts alcohol/bourbon moving on to musty chocolate with smoke and light spice. Lots of flavor in the finish. Finishes as the flavors with an additional musty/woody tone. Mind bending flavor assortment. Ratman197 (14668) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - AUG 5, 2013
Bomber poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of smoke, roasted malt, bitter chocolate and light bourbon. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of smoke, roasted malt, bitter choclate, light earthiness and light bourbon with a smooth lingering smokey finish. Scopey (14501) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 28, 2016
Bottle at level 42 shared by Leighton. It pours jet black with a mid tan head. The aroma isrich, sweet, vanila, loads of wood, intoxicating sweetness, chocolate gateaux, roasted malt, dried fruits, and creamy milk chocolate. The taste is quite bitter and harsh upfront, wood, varnish, boozy alcohol boost, dark chocolate, hard roasted malt, hint of smoke and maybe a touch of solvent. Full body and fine carbonation. Aroma is quite nice, but the taste is a touch harsh. Ok.
