Bottle. Pours amber brown with a short tan head. Aroma of caramel, scotch, vanilla and toffee. Flavor was quite sweet with caramel, toffee, oaky scotch, brown sugar and had some notes of peat. AWISLguy (3495) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 7, 2017
650ml bottle from ck1, cellared 6 months and shared by all on poker night. My 2900th rating! Tan pour, little head. Sweet whiskey blend with sweet and stone fruits. Gets too sweet. 13.7 JK (6379) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - MAR 11, 2017
End of the bottle. Brown color. Dust, some whisky flavor a little hops and dry malt. Ok. beertholomeus (1814) - California, USA - DEC 20, 2016
Pours a burnt amber brown color with a khaki head. Burnt sugar, caramel, toffee, vanilla, oak, scotch and biscuit aroma and flavors. Full body and moderate carbonation and a burnt sugar, toffee and booze finish. superspak (6363) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - OCT 21, 2016
22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 5/20/2016. Pours hazy dark ruby red/light brown color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with great retention, the reduces to a small cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, vanilla, oak, whiskey, toasted biscuit, raisin, plum, fig, apricot, apple, and date; with linger notes of nuttiness, roast, peat smoke, and yeast/oak/toasted earthiness. Slight booziness in the nose as it warms. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, fruity yeast, and scotch barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, vanilla, oak, whiskey, toasted biscuit, raisin, plum, fig, apricot, apple, and date; with linger notes of nuttiness, roast, peat smoke, and yeast/oak/toasted earthiness. Light herbal hop bitterness and scotch/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, vanilla, oak, whiskey, toasted biscuit, dark/light fruits, and yeast/oak/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, fruity yeast, and scotch barrel flavors; with a nice malt/bitter and oak spiciness balance; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Slight dryness from bitter/oak spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warmth lingering after the finish; with minimal barrel booziness. Overall this is an incredible barrel aged English barleywine. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, fruity yeast, and scotch barrel flavors; very smooth and easy to sip on for the big ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottle, thanks for sharing. Pours a clear amber with a tan head tha dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has lots of toffee and caramel supported by straw, hay and sweet grains. Flavor has more of a bitterness but still full of sweet grains, caramel and toffee notes. BVery (11491) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - OCT 14, 2016
Bomber. Murky brownish orange pour. Scotch dominates. Caramel and peat. Quite good. thomashall (1602) - New Hope, Minnesota, USA - OCT 14, 2016
Bomber shared by Bvery, thanks buddy! Cloudy caramel pour. Strong scotch aroma. Scotch up front, some sweetness. Well done, just not my style. ScotchAleMale (1) - - OCT 11, 2016 does not count
I wanted to love this beer. The body is pretty weak for an English BW and the base beer fights to get through the barrel. On the plus side, the barrel creates nice flavors of vanilla, coconut and charred oak. oRos (1674) - sacramento, California, USA - SEP 26, 2016
Bottle shared at capitol beer and taproom. Pours dark brown\black. Taste is sweet malts with a hint of booze.
