2018-03-02. Black body, modest creamy brown head. Aroma is relatively mild, dark fruit, light dark malt and dusty roast. Subtle. 7++ Flavour is rich, mild alcohol and bitterness up front, moderate roast and bitterness grows as you go. Medium to full bodied palate, moderate carbonation. Feels a bit simple at first but it's surprisingly subtle and well balanced for such a big beer. 7-8/4-5/8/4-5/16++ On tap at The Cambrian Tap, Cardiff.

1 Pint can. Scents of coffee licorice alcohol and malt. Pours a black brown with a big frothy brown head with lots of lacing. Tastes of coffee, smoke, licorice and chalk. Slick mouthfeel. Balance of bitter and malt masks alcohol. Well made beer but overpriced. Jow (4231) - Orlando, Florida, USA - FEB 13, 2018

Pours thick black with thin, dark head. Aroma is smoke, chocolate and vanilla. Taste is chocolate and caramel, opening to a woody roast and a smooth chocolate finish. A very tasty stout.
