On tap at Half Day Brewing in Lincolnshire, along with ck1 - thanks for the time! For my 70th Clown Shoes. This is certainly a white whale that was missed on stops through Cincinnati, and missed at Duke's Alehouse about 4 years ago. Yum! Caramel, chocolate, big roast and big oaky bourbon! Full bodied with a solid alcohol presence, the blend is quite good. Finishes near the center of that bitter-sweet scale, with nice length to the flavors. Wow! Unusual that something hoped for matches the expectation, but this was really good. 16.2 AirForceHops (8420) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 16, 2017

Bomber picked up at an event at Ipswich Brewery. Bottled 4/4/16. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet grass, mild chocolate, bourbon. Flavor is dark chocolate, Molasses, bourbon, oak. Grass and oak n the finish. This is the best thing that could have happened to Ohio Unidragon 2015. Amazing what a little bourbon barrel aging will do. drfabulous (9224) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - FEB 18, 2017
22 ounce bottle. Dark pour. Medium mouthfeel with a lot of chocolate, bourbon, tobacco, cocoa. Chocolate booze in nose. Well done.

Dark black color with thin ring for a head and light messy lacing. Aroma and flavor have strong cocoa and bourbon notes. Very well balanced and rich, easy to drink. Alcohol is hidden well superspak (6654) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - JUL 15, 2016
22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 4/4/2016. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, dark bread, spicy rye, nuttiness, molasses, caramel, toffee, bourbon, vanilla, toasted oak, leather, tobacco, herbal, pine, light smoke/char, and roast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of roast/bready/rye malt, bourbon barrel, and moderate pine/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of huge big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, dark bread, spicy rye, nuttiness, molasses, caramel, toffee, bourbon, vanilla, toasted oak, leather, tobacco, herbal, pine, light smoke/char, and roast/oak earthiness. Moderate roast/char and herbal/pine hop bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, dark bread, spicy rye, nuttiness, molasses, caramel, toffee, bourbon, vanilla, toasted oak, leather, tobacco, smoke, char, herbal, pine, and roast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready/rye malt, bourbon barrel, and moderate pine/earthy hop flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from roast/hop bitterness, that increases through the glass. Light carbonation and full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and fairly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding barrel aged Russian imperial stout! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready/rye malt, bourbon barrel, and moderate pine/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to sip on for the big ABV. Very similar to the base beer as expected with added barrel complexity; but is more smoothed out on bitter hop character with a better mouthfeel. There was also some cap leakage evident; but it turned out better that way in the overall experience, despite the very low carbonation. A highly enjoyable offering. alexsdad06 (11734) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUL 4, 2016
22 oz bottle at home. Pours dark brown to black in color with a medium sized off tan head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, dark chocolate, caramel, bourbon, vanilla, wood, molasses, bourbon grows on the nose as it warmed, another in a long line of big Clown Shoes Imperial Stouts that I enjoy, this is a beer that will probably disappear once the new abv laws take effect. Tap. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly diminished with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted lactic chocolate, earthy hop and dark alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy toasted chocolate malt sweet flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a dry smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a complex solid beer. Memountel (1) - USA - MAY 14, 2016 does not count
The 2015 Ohio Unidragon was not my favorite year by far. Due to my appreciation for the whacky stuff Clown Shoes does I had to give this a try and I loved it. Hugely tasty stout but more along the lines of a snifter full of creamy bourbon than stout in a glass. I’m not a regular reviewer and this beer had no reviews so I thought I would throw my 2 cents in. I’m not using standard protocol to describe this beer but I know what I like and this is definitely a good one.
