COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Desert Swarm is CVB’s take on Belgian Style Witbier referring to the beers cloudy appearance. Desert Swarm is brewed with Raw Unmalted wheat, imported Belgian malts, Oats, Punjab coriander, locally grown kumquats from Coachella, California and Killer Bee Honey from Lance Davis’ Killer Bee honey, www. killerbeeinc123.com. Paying homage to the style which was once almost extinct, Desert Swarm decants the color of apricots, with a foamy alabaster cap of Belgian lacing, that dissipates quickly releasing the fragrance of citrus and honeycomb. The creamy mouth-feel is contrasted by tart, lip-prickling fizz, carried with it nectar like sweetness which is cut by the kumquats, and just a hint of stomach-stoking warmth right in to the finish from the addition of Killer Bee Honey. Lance’s live bee removal company never uses any pesticides and all of the bees removed are collected live and moved to Lance’s hives outside of residential areas.

It sounds and looks way better than it is. I expected a slightly heavier and sweeter honey wheat ale but this beer all over the place. Prickly, tart with odd sour after taste. No sign of wheat or hops whatsoever so did not even taste like a beer but more like a cooler. Did absolutely nothing for me and I couldn’t take more 3 sips.

This did nothing for me. Almost no aroma. Flavor was very plain to me. Didn’t get much honey. No thanks.

Draft pour at village pub. White head. Bright cloudy yelllow. Wheat tangerine and apricot flavors. Really good. I hate wheats and this doesn't seem wheaty

Draft. Pours hazed gold with a white head. Lemony and coriander notes, a wheaty base, and a bit of sweetness. Solid.

Hazy gold pour, small white head. Vaguely fruity aroma with herbal notes, possibly sage. Flavor of yeast, spice, banana. A bit thin.

Rating #1583 - 22.03.2015 - On tap at Lucky’s Hollywood. Was expecting a mildly hoppy american style wheat beer. Hazy golden pour, decent white head. Aroma is a cathedral of spices and honey. Palate is not dominated by any one characteristic, impeccable balance of sweet fruits, floral honey, and herbal spiciness.. Mild yeasty kick up front and in the finish. Solid wheat ale.

Taster, on tap at the brewery. Imperial witbier, works well. Coriander citrus aroma, some honey follows, warming. Pretty good.

Sampled at GABF 2015. In the sample glass gold in color with an off-white head. Nose of sweet caramel malt, Maybe the honey, .Coriander for sure. Medium plus body. Flavor does show the sweetness of honey, and some citrus along with fruit. Nice and tasty.

Draft pours hazy orange with a small white head. The aroma is loads of honey, citrus fruit, and coriander. Big sweet honey flavor. Comes from killer bees! I actually don’t mind sweet so I like it. Medium plus body with a slick feel. Decent, but becomes a bit much after awhile.

Decent brew from place not to far. Industrial park setting warm day so this beer was pretty refreshing for climat. Wheat like and slightly Belgian tart. Not generally my style but worked well on hot day with the refreshing hef character. May be some fruit beer with this as base? Hmmmm cVB think about it.
