(650ml bottle) Purchased at Hillside Liquors. Pours a thin, white head atop an orange body. Nose is sour and yeasty. This is very different - very astringent, very lemon, nail polish remover... Not good. Not palatable.

Alright I donít want to dump on these guys and join the pile-on but not really sure what else to do here. This is the first sour roggenweizen Iíve had, might be the only one sold commercially in the world who knows, and thereís good reason for it. It just tastes like an infected wheat beer. I guess the rye introduces spiciness? I couldnít really focus on that. This would have been cool as a pilot brew but I think itís a bad idea to bottle this stuff as new brewers, with many consumers buying possibly their first bottle from this brand. Nothing wrong with the way this was brewed, just a terrible recipe.
My favourite rock bands are the Grateful Dead and Phish. Both of them play pretty much all the styles available to them, and go into long jams using scales, modes, and rhythms based on whatever song theyíre playing. It makes listening to them exciting, as every concert is different. They also occasionally dip into pure psychedelia/free jazz/ambient music, with no rules. Sometimes it works out magically, but often it doesnít. They donít sell the bunk performances as live albums.

Pours a light golden colour with a slim white head strong aroma of vinegar. Flavour is light with a bit of sweetness and almost no sour notes. Hints of apples and pears and taste a little bit of rye at beginning.

Bottle. Cloudy amber. Smells like the darkest corner on my grandmas basement where a wet sock was forgotten about the last 17 yrs. Taste of barnyard, tart, dry citrus. Very decent tasting beer actually.

650 ml bottle. Pours a copper color with light head. Aroma of burnt plastic. Flavor is much the same. A touch sour with acidic grainy notes. Yuck.

Cloudy gold,fast fading white head.Light smoky wheat nose.Palate is both smoky and tart. Interesting!

Sample at a beer club tasting. Iím not very experienced with sour beers, and to me, consequently, this is a very sour beer, whereas the commercial description allows that itís "mildly tart". Plenty of fruit notes, once one gets past the initial lip-puckering sensation. I enjoyed it, but I donít think I could drink a lot of this. One glass would be sufficient.
