Don’t be easily deceived... This smooth ale shrouded in a smoky haze is quite powerful. German rauch (smoked) and Scottish Peated malts combine for a pronounced and layered smokiness. The remarkable smoothness may leave you slipping into a trance.

Sample at beer club. Didn’t get any head on my sample, so no notes on that. Nose is smoky of course, but other notes as well. Better on the nose than on the tongue.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2018 Not usually a fan of smoked beers but this one is nicely balanced. Big Smokey aroma and taste but nice chocolate notes as well

16 oz can gifted by Oakes. Thanks! Quite a treat for the strange brew fan like myself. I say strange, because smoked beers are one thing, and this brings smoked to another level. Dark dense, thick midnight pour. Dark brown fizz head. Toasty, smoked aroma. Flavor is a similar toasty, roasted malt, covered by a smoked ham. Lingering campfire. So much that it seems dry as a result. Smoke. Can't say much more about it. Surprised how much I enjoyed this.

Can in Seattle. Thanks to the Vancouver crew for passing his to Andrew. Very dark brown, soft ring of tan. Thick, hammy smoke nose. Full creamy sip has a chocolate and brown malt backing with a huge amount of creamy smoke over the top. Super smoky imperial brown. Chewy full body, relatively sweet. Haven’t had a smoked beer like this before, and I enjoy it. Cool.
