High portions of rye malts combine with northwest hops to give this copper coloured ale a complicated and intriguing, yet smooth and drinkable flavour. A true Pacific Northwest style craft ale, not quite like what you have tasted before.

Certainly palatable, but not quite the complexity I might have expected. Perhaps I’ll give it a shot again and re-rate. I did detect the rye, but it’s subtle. More of a generic pale ale, but decent session beer I think.

Ferris (17070) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 5, 2017
Bottle - Sweet caramel and candy hops. Cloudy gold copper with a rich beige head. Bitter and earthy hops with lots of caramel in the background. Big bitterness in the finish.

vadie (1257) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 10, 2016
Jaune pale avec une moyenne robe blanche. L’arôme du seigle, du malt léger, et d’houblon terreux. En bouche il y a du seigle et malt léger bien équilibré par une finale d’houblon florale. Bonne et facile à boire.

Lagerboy (2239) - British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 3, 2014
Bomber. Clear lighter copper, smaller lasting creamy white head. Mild aroma of caramel malt and rye. Taste is slightly sweet caramel malt with some spicy rye and lightly bitter earthy hop. Average carbonation, lighter bodied, lightly hopped. Not that exciting or complex, but a nice enough sessional ale. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)

CapFlu (5132) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 22, 2013
(650ml bottle) Purchased at Hillside Liquors. Pours a medium, frothy white head atop a copper coloured body. Nose is very off - acetone, cantaloup and watercress. Flavour is robust, good resiny hop front, some apples and bitter hop finish. Pretty good considering the lower ABV of 5.2%. --- reviewed on RateBeer.com

From bottle -pours light-wheat brown Aroma is bubble gum and pacific northwest hops. First sip is bubble gum floral with mild sweetness. Aftertaste is mild sweet spiciness.

Bottle. Orange amber, low head. Edgy, light metallic, grain balanced with grass and pine. Cascadian finish. Dry mouthfeel, medium chewy body. Fairly moreish.

Bomber. The "Cascadian" signifies the PNW hop style used -- this is not a cross between a Cascadian Brown and Rye, which I figured (and was probably the only one). The pour gave a huge amount of bubbles on the side of the glass, same as their Vienna I had the other day. I figure it’s hitches in the bottling process for a start-up, can’t blame them. Hazy ruby amber.

The aroma is grainy with alcohol notes. Taste is of a classic PNW amber ale with good balance but not an "explosion in your mouth". The stand-out here is, of course, the rye, which gives a fantastic smooth mouthfeel I just can’t praise enough. Bitterness comes through in the finish more than I’d expect from 38 IBUs. This is quite good, and I think it will prove popular in the province. Cheers.

Hazy amber color, with creamy head. Mild aroma of rye, nice. Smooth mouthfeel, dry but not too much; quite good flavor of malt, cereals, rye, cookies; it has a light roastiness that may call for the Cascadian name; the hopping is balanced, providing some fruity quality.
It has some elegance; pleasant.
