3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour is clear orange with a fluffy white head. Sweet tropical fruits on the nose, lots of sticky piney notes, floral hops, and kind of a fruity spice note as well. Fairly malt forward for a pale ale on the taste, lots of fresh piney hop bitterness, other very floral notes, mango and grapefruit, and still getting some kind of spice note in there somewhere. Very tasty, and quite malty for a pale ale.
Aroma is super fresh, fresh cut grass. Medium body with good carbonation and a intense fresh hop taste with a nice smooth finish. Clean, crisp, great brew.

Bottle... Pours murky orange with amber highlights and a mid-sized, frothy, white head. Good retention. The aroma is a marriage of pale-malt mash and simcoe-hop earthiness. Light to medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. The flavor is loaded with heavy metallic and earthy bitterness. Lengthy, crisp, snappy-hop finish. Growler from Greenville Beer Exchange as a part of Growler Saturday #6
A: Pours a hazy, deep copper color with a big fluffy eggshell color cap. Retention is pretty sweet as well
S: Classic simcoe-style aroma..pretty distinct and I think it is slightly vegetal. Resinous/piney, light citrus, and a firm malt backing. Nicely balanced seemingly, with a light caramel note.
T: Bitterness is pretty disguised at first, but as it opens, the bitterness is amped up. Vegetal hops again, with a nice caramel malt backing. Light citrus too
MF/O: Smooth carbonation, perfect mouthfeel to this one. The bitterness and/or hop flavor lingers in the finish. Overall, another impressive COAST offering...again
Notes: I absolutely love COAST’s single hop pale ale’s. Simcoe was excellent, but the Cascade was absolutely phenomenal. Another hit

Bottle. Pours cloudy gold with bone white head. Nose/taste of fresh mango, pineapple, citrus, malt and pine. Finishes dry slightly bitter with pineapple husks. Medium body. Amazing. oobawa (1401) - Tennessee, USA - JUN 14, 2012
Pitch-perfect Pale Ale, with a monstrous herbal funky-hop insanity that is unmistakably Simcoe. Grainy, thick malt undertone sets a formidable base on which the hops go berzerk, yet the ABV stays at a sobriety-friendly level. Yeah, I was sipping it from a plastic cup, but fuck off. I know good when I taste it. Honorable mention to Hom’s Bistro Burger-- holy lord that was tasty. woodychevy (874) - - MAR 23, 2011
Limited release from COAST brewing in N. Chas. Lucky enough to get a growler of it at Whole Foods. Aroma is citrusy and piney- pours a nice amber color with a slight cloudiness to it. Frothy head that has decent staying power. Taste is just like the aroma- not too bitter. Has a decent malty balance to it. Clean, smooth and refreshing. Only recent it didn’t rate higher is that it leaves a bit of a funny aftertaste. Finishes well, but lingers badly. Good to know that I like Simcoe Hops- another solid beer from COAST.
