Butters (4176) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAR 19, 2011
Sampled both at Brewvival 2011 and at the Richmond 14th Gathering. Very dark brown pour with ring of tan head. Defintiely good with a very long lasting bourbon warming in the back of the throat. Sweet vanilla and dark cherry and vanilla and chocolate and light roast. Very mellow and smooth, but still with alcohol. Good stuff. anders37 (27062) - Malmö, SWEDEN - MAR 4, 2011

courtesy of brewedawakening, thank you so much! wow, is this a treat! i love the way jd barrels play on a beer, just divine. this stuff pours very think black, very oily and dense, with a slow rising dark brown head that has good retention and excellent lacing and spotting. smells like chocolate milk, totally awesome, almost like a st stout. the taste is to match, just awesome. sweet, creamy, thick, lightly barreled, but just enough to make itself known, especially comes through nicely in the finish and after taste. the smokey peaty original beer is still there, but the bitterness is balanced so beautifully by the sweet marshmallows, chocolate milk and jd. the body is top notch, thick and full, nothing unpleasant about it. excellent beer, i really enjoyed this one.
