Bottled. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes roasted malt and bourbon. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt and bourbon, leading to a dry finish, where the bourbon note burns. A nice sipper in front of the fireplace. joergen (29624) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 25, 2010

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Sean9689. Pours black with a vague, vague tint of red - and a tiny, rough beige head. Hard roast malt, dried fruits and whiskey. Solid body, hard roast malts, smoky and tar-like, very dry and roughly malt bitter. Lots of whiskey, but dry and ashy. Quite some malt bitterness. 241010 Oakes (19426) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 10, 2009
Dark brown. Not much head. Chocolatey, rich slightly fudgey and smooth aroma with only a the slightest hint of barrel. Rich, soft body is ultra smooth. Just a hint of barrel taste, but the wood provides significant roundness to the beer in the finish. Subtle vanilla late lends this beer a dessert quality that other BA impys would envy. Gorgeous stuff. jtclockwork (17654) - , New Jersey, USA - MAY 26, 2011
UPDATED: MAY 27, 2011 Bottle. 200th imperial stout rating. Pours oily black. Tan head. Nose is roasted chocolate, mocha java, dark chocolate, vanilla and whiskey barrel. Taste is the same. Body is on the lighter side for an imperial, but the spot on taste and nose is really the driving force of this masterful brew. Ratman197 (15628) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JUN 21, 2009
