Courtesy of bobby8405. Pours deep dark with copper edges and thin tan head. The aroma is a bit mild with chocolate, roastiness, black strap molasses and some malt infused earthiness. The taste is smooth with chocolate, dark roasted malts, full thick earthiness, some coffee and black strap molasses. Nice tasty brew. The flavor blends seamlessly with chocolate, dark roasted malts and earthiness.

Had at RBWG 2010 at Redlight. Big thanks to OrlGameCock at RBWG for the state tick. The aroma is dark chocolate covered cherries with coffee, cream, sour, and more. The flavor is similar but the fruits are subdued and the dusty chocolate comes out.

@ Carolina Goes Sour- to switch things up a bit. Thanks to JCB? Bomber. Pours almost black with a thin yellow head. Aroma of oxidized fruits, sweet fruit juices. Taste is bitter coffee, chocolate, vanilla, red apples. Not too much depth but very nice.

Nearly black pour with a nice tan head. Roasty and toasty aroma with tons of chocolate. Prunes and molasses too. Flavor is both sweet and bitter. Chcocolate and coffee with prunes. Damn nice.

bottle, pours black with a medium tan head. Strong coffee and cocoa aroma. Black cherry, bakers chocolate and a roasty black malt flavor. Some coffee in the finish....nice.

Bomber from the 1st batch (bottled 2/18/08). Poured clear, deeper brown (but nowhere near black) with a spotty cap of tan head. The aroma picked up buttery molasses and black patent malts with an enjoyable kick from the smoked malts around the nose.. this seemed past its prime both in malt degradation and the lack of appreciable hops. The flavor found the same malt bill and smoke presence as the nose.. grainy molasses and black patent marred a bit by butter cream, with nice smoked malts around.. again the hops were barely there, just showing a little earthy bitterness with coffee and smoke on the edges. Medium-plus bodied with low-ish carbonation on the palate.. moderate roast.. methinks this just didnt hold up that well. Ill try a fresh sample if presented to me.

A: Pours a dark black with a small head. Light retention and some spots of lace. S: Lots of roasted malt, chocolate, smoke, and band aid. T: No band aid which is a good thing. Very roasty toasty with light chocolate notes. There is a molasses or dark fruit like sweetness before a nicely hopped bitter finish. M: On the fuller side of medium, nice carbonation. D: Drinks pretty good.

Draft at Brewvival: Smoky nose. Brown with a huge brown head, good lacing. Smoked flavor of rancid meat. Charred oak finish. Alcohol evident. Could pass for a rauchbier but not a good one.

Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAR 5, 2010
Bomber, bottled on 02/22/10 and consumed fresh, just two weeks later. Courtesy OrlGamecock. Pours a very dark mahogany color that shows a bit of translucency at the edge. A small, smooth head of dark khaki to light brown foam leaves dense, scattered spot lacing behind on the glass. The nose is based in dark, bitter chocolate and roasty coffee, with hints of anise and maybe a bit of burnt oats. Flavors are very darkly roasted, showing more bakers chocolate, bitter cacao, toasted barley, and coffee beans. Earthen hops impart a good amount of bitterness, while touch of scorched molasses sweetness brings things back into balance. The body is substantial, but well short of full, sporting an even-keeled carbonation and a slightly drying finish. Overall, a very nice and well balanced brew, but its not something to go crazy over.
