Aroma is of strong mildew and a little malt. Appearance is a very attractive amber with decent head. The taste is more mildew and some sweat. Palate is nice medium body and smooth, quite wet. OVerall, this was a drain-pour. drowland (9186) - Georgia, USA - SEP 9, 2010
9/7/10. Thanks, Cavie! Clear amber pour with a khaki head that fades fast but laces a lot. The aroma is huge burnt licorice/anise, which transfers huge into the flavor with a hint of mint and sour. This is very odd. Beerdrinker79 (2188) - Idaho, USA - AUG 28, 2010
12 oz. bottle- Pours amber with a nice creamy yet thin head and nice sticky lacing that almost looks like a spideweb of foam, aroma is malty and mild hops with some apple juice. The flavor is malty, bready, maybe rye, caramel malts. Overall a good amber ale, just not good enough for me to love it, or ever purchase again. crazyvin (2026) - New York, USA - AUG 23, 2010
Had a thin looking amber body that seemed to lack any carbonation and life, it did however have a nice initial white frothy head that quickly faded to a thin coating. Aroma was of mild caramel malts. Flavor was similar some hops but not much. Palate was weak. brendaniel (59) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 17, 2010
Pretty standard amber beer. Very malty nose and flavors, slightly bitter, but nothing special.

12oz bottle from BevMo. Pretty much a watered down version of Karl Strauss Amber. A light toffee nose with a somewhat malty watery finish. brianprentiss (703) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 28, 2007
Fine regular beer, nothing special. Malty and sweet but not quite right. Try Rogue Amber Ale instead. lipscomb216 (80) - USA - SEP 2, 2006
UPDATED: FEB 17, 2007 A fairly good Amber. Has a nice malty taste to it, and a sweet, sort of raisin taste to it. Pours out an orange amber color and has notes of grapefruit and caramel in the nose. isamublue (21) - Huntington Beach, California, USA - MAY 5, 2006
12 oz bottle. I found this to be too sweet and malty, compared to other amber ales I’ve had and liked much better. No hoppy bite at all, almost seemed syrupy. mrnutsnbolts (204) - anywhere usa, - OCT 23, 2005
Keg. It was a little difficult to see the beer in the classic plastic red cup, but it seemed fairly amber colored. Poured with a white head. Smelled sweet and malty. Tasted some mild hops, caramel, and malts. Decent, better than standard party fair.
