Amber ale with a thick off white head. Light sweet malt aroma, without much character. Sweet malt taste, with light butterscotch, light floral hops and medium body. August 2005. bb (9268) - Alamo, California, USA - JAN 1, 2006
Draft. Amber colored beer with a big whitish head. Not much aroma. Flowery hops and some caramel malt flavor, but watered down. Lighter body. mrnutsnbolts (204) - anywhere usa, - OCT 23, 2005
Keg. This stuff was watery, flavorless, and had a tiny bit of a hop presence. It was definately disappointing. FoolishMortal (990) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 10, 2005
22oz. bottle. Orange amber with red tinges. Caramel and mild grassiness in the aroma. Caramel malt and some toastiness, with a faint floral bitterness that is most present in the finish. Mouthfeel is very light and somewhat crisp. Nothing remarkable. BeerLimey (2154) - California, USA - APR 5, 2005
Clear copper hue, mild carbonation, modest head formation. Caramel malt aroma, sour fruit. Very light malt on the palate, caramel flavor, lemony citrus hops in the finish, very little body. Unimpressive.

Bottle - pours copper color with a very small white head that diminishes to nothing. Aroma and taste both remind me of a lager - and not a very good one at that. Slightly sweet, a little soapy and a decent hop bite. Light body and some carbonation. Overall an unfortunate attempt at a good style of beer. DarkElf (3062) - La Jolla, California, USA - FEB 6, 2005
(22 oz bottle: $2.60 at BevMo in La Jolla, CA) Eh, my first impression isn’t very favorable. The nose combines grassy, floral, caramel and sugary aromas, and the mix comes out kind of strange smelling to me. Strange, as in different, yes, but also strange, as in, I’m not sure I like this or not. The flavor is a little more straightforward, lightly malty, fairly grainy and mildly sweet with a gentle grapefruit bitterness in the finish. It’s your basic amber color, and is fully clear in appearance. Smallish off-white head fades to a thin film and leaves several rows of dashes of lace resembling coastal barrier islands off the coast off the Mid Atlantic states. The bomber of this stuff is inexpensive as hell, but also not all that great, so it’s still unlikely I’d ever buy this again, even at this price, because all my subsequent impressions during this session aren’t very favorable either. A strange hop aroma, but not in bad way but a different way. Honey gold color and some nice head just like my bitch. To tell the truth this doesn’t taste much different than Coastal Fog’s amber. It is lightly hopped and has a slight caramel character. Maybe a touch of vanilla and a spice flavor of clove. Good stuff to drink numerous bottles too. Beer has an earthy hop aroma. There is malt present but the hops mostly dominate. Flavor is quite dry, medium bodied. Not impressed. Sounds like most people like this beer for the price. Yeah... that’s all it has going for it. IHCNavistar (93) - Orinda, California, USA - NOV 19, 2004
Bottle. Aroma is sweet and oily, with not much hops. Pours a medium to medium-dark amber color, with a disappointingly thin head. Carbonation is satisfactory. Taste is of bitter grapefruit juice , and something else. Not very good. Not a repeat buy, for me at least.
