Gravity at The Stoke Beer Festival. A clear golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma of lemon, some orange, grapefruit, a hint of pineapple, biscuity malts and subtle grassy hops. Taste of lemon, orange, some honey, a hint of grapefruit, slight biscuity malt and subtle grassy hops. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A dryish, grassy hop bitterness in the finish with a sweet, honeyed aftertaste. A well balanced strong ale, with a good sweetness to bitterness ratio. Not exciting in flavour but still good.

Bottle, bang on it’s BBD, from Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Hazy gold. Fairly dense, fairly thick, lasting, white head. Good looker. Fusty orange. Light spice. Light grapefruit. Some woodiness, possibly due to its age, but that’s fine by me. Taste is light dry, and light, zesty bitter. Finishes fusty bitter.

berkshirejohn (6501) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - DEC 9, 2013
50cl bottle, bottle conditioned, from the Hogs Back Brewery shop, stated ABV 5.6%. A murky golden amber pour with a thin ring of white head; citrusy aroma; rich texture in the mouth, with honeyed tropical fruits, including pineapple and grapefruit; and a clean but sweet finish. THis really shows off the American hops.
