Rhyme & Reason, Extra Pale Ale American style pale ale. The flavour and aroma of Citra, Centennial, Chinook and Simcoe hops prevail without excessive bitterness for maximum drinkability. Malt sweetness of Pale Ale, Crystal Carafoam and Wheat Flakes in the background complements the hops for a crisp finish. 5.7 ABV 55 IBUs (Bottles and Draft)

bottle. Hazy golden-orange. Aroma and taste dominated by pine and tropical fruit hoppiness. Decent balance, but the hops are definitely in the forefront. Pretty good.

On tap at Darby’s Gastown in Vancouver. A pale orange color with moderate white head and a faint hop nose. Not so bitter, but refreshing piney hop notes. Moderate sweet malts in the background. Nice! 3.9

Can. Pours a bright, clear gold/amber with a medium sized lacing white head. Nose of leafy-pine hop, faint caramel, and toasted grain. Very smooth mouthfeel. Carbonation is ample but soft and slow moving. I’d describe this as traditionally stylish, but with a much stronger accent on hops. Definitely due to the blend, the hops are in your face for a beer of this magnitude. Sweet and caramelly, with medicinal, tropical fruity, and pine hops. It’s pretty bitter. Mineral oily malts, with notes of earth, chocolate, caramel, and an abundance of toast. Mild pepper and burnt grass through the finish. It’s good, but the hops are a little lost in their representation and maybe doesn’t help the palate. They are all assertive and I’m just wondering if it’s "one too many". The clean finish is a strong point.

Style et résumé: Pale ale à l’américaine.
Comment: Bouteille achetée à la SAQ, series 5 no. 47
Description: Une belle robe dorée légèrement voilée. Un nez d’agrumes, d’herbes le tout sur des houblons. Une bouche simple, facile à boire, sur les houblons résineux. Très agréable.
Note: 7/10

Bierdimpfe (640) - Quebec, CANADA - OCT 14, 2016
Cloudy light golden color with storming activity. Slightly creamy beige 2 finger head, lasting around 10 minutes, with good legs. Flavors of caramel, butter, pineapple, orange, lemon, pine, sweet grains, floral and herbal spices. Sugary at start, yet ends with a sharp bitter hoppy feel. Slick oily light body with crispy carbonation. Medium strength finish, lingering tropical fruits and lemon, with tongue coating grassy and piney hops. Feels more like an IPA. Good flavors and balance, nicely intensified. Although very thin and a little flat, lacking freshness. Overall good quality craft. With some tuning it could be a very good ale.

Can. Very cloudy pale amber with a white head. Floral and grapefruity aroma with some pine, biscuit. Pine creeps up in the taste a bit to become a little mentholish and eventually is too much for the lovely citrus (herbal lemon is an accent to the grapefruit) and rather light malt that’s a bit bready as well as biscuity. Medium high bitterness with a fairly dry finish.

Rating #1863 - 2015.08.14 - Draught @revolutionyeg Dark amber pour with a bubbly, lasting white foam. Aroma is sweet citrus, lemon, and orange. Taste is a blast of citrusy sweetness, tempered by an explosion of hoppy bitterness, drying out the finish, but leaving the palate demanding another sip. Balanced, and extremely drinkable.

HKdIPA (810) - HONG KONG - AUG 15, 2016
Tall can from Grand Electric in Toronto. Light bubbly golden pour. Aroma is sweet fruity hops with pineapple and mango. Taste is similar - sweet fruit like mango with citrus bitter bite. Palate is light but not as light as I thought it would be. Really nice. Collective Arts - three for three on this trip of the beers from them I’ve tried. Great big pale ale.
