Pours a clear brown with very small head. Light aroma of some hops and caramel. Slick mouth feel with medium carbonation. Aftertaste is caramel and some floral hop bitterness. Overall: boring. It is very bland madmitch76 (25101) - , Essex, ENGLAND - OCT 12, 2013

Clear deep brown - amber beer, small off white head. Palate is semi dry with light minerally crispness. Papery dry malt and a hint of dark chocolate. Dry finish. Dull as day old dishwater.
Good amber ale. Very subtle on the nose and then surprisingly complex on the palate. Toasty, Malty with toffee and caramel. Med dry finish.

Bottle from Sourced Market, St Pancras. Deepish clear brown beer with a very thin beige head. Malty aroma, brown malt aroma. Yep a brown ale type lager. It’s ok, I’m just not a massive fan of this style of beer. It’s a bit dirty and as I say, Im just not a fan of these flavours, brown malt and not a lot else. gruberm (329) - - APR 1, 2013

330ml bottle. Just smells and tastes of fizz. Really boring. WHy does this list for south Africa when its brewed in Germany? Gr0ve (2176) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 8, 2012
330 ml bottle. Dark copper colour. Crystal clear. Small off-white head. Appley nose with hints of sweet sugars. Crisp malty flavours. Body is light, but the beer is well balanced and very drinkable. Slick texture. Nice malty flavours with hints of toffee and rye. BeerViking (4954) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 7, 2012
Bottle bought in the UK, poured a dark copper with a fine white head, caramel and a little yellow fruit on the nose, body is malty and a little nutty, some toffee, a little honey and a little roastiness coming through in the finish.
*Note that the version of this sold in the UK is not South African - it is contract brewed in Germany by Arcobräu* Leighton (21859) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 29, 2012
Bottle at home in London. Pours clear, metallic gold with a sturdy, white foam head. Yep, some nice grainy malts on the nose, some light toast, toasty sugar. Medium sweet flavor with some dry caramel, toast, bread, light hay, grains, subtle bitterness, honey. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sticky sweet on the finish with more toast, caramel, bread, grain, dirty hay, mild earth. Relatively dry, too, which alleviates some of the sugary sweetness. Mediocre to average overall. oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - NOV 4, 2011
Amber colour, small head. Aroma is grains, wood, mild earth and some toasted notes. Flavour is fruity, mildly nutty, mild floral notes as well as some sweet and toasted malts.
