Towey1989 (3270) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 7, 2017
Bottle at Beerdock Leek. Pours a cloudy browny amber colour with a thin off white head. Aroma of tangy red fruits, apple, some plum, prune and slight spice. Taste of tangy red fruits, some caramel, slight apple, prune and subtle spicy hops. Medium bodied and an oily texture. A sweetish, prune and spicy bitterness in the finish. Like an alcoholic prune juice, sweet, tangy and spicy. Flavourful but for its style, average.

Bottle. Amber color with tan head. Aroma is prunes, raisins. Taste is prunes, chocolate, malty, molasses. Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Not bad, but also not very expressive.

10-DEC-2016, bottle @Peter & Sandra, thx.:-) Hazy amber with a lasting, low, off-white head. Aroma is sweet red ale - malt and bitter. Hops and alcohol. Taste the same. Alcohol burns.

I think this beer is quite old. Smells like old paint with a fairly flat head despite the cap that is designed to preserve carbonation. Not as sweet as many Belgian strong, I actually get a bit of a doppelbock feel to this. Strange.

0,1l from tap at Salon Piva. brown / redish hazy color, small off-white head. smells of caramel, honey, spices, some dark fruits, plums. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of caramel, some sweetness, honey, flowery, spices. finishes rather balanced with some caramel and spices. decent enough but also a bit boring. overall drinkable.
