UPDATED: AUG 22, 2017 On tap at Mojos Bar, Sydney. Pours an ink black with a brownish tinge and a lingering tan head. Aroma: roasted malt, mild coffee notes, burnt toast, bitter cocoa. Taste: roasted malt, mild bitter coffee flavours. Moderate bitterness. Low carbonation. Easy drinking, slight watery texture. Good standard porter. Spot on beer with deep ruby body & tan cream.
Subdued aroma - roast nuts, touch of coffee, dark chocolate.
Smooth creamy texture, very fine bead, full body.
Quite an easy going sort of dark beer - nutty, dark toffee sweetness, touch of chocolate, moderate bitterness.

TAP. Poured more or less black with a small tan head. Got a very malty & caramel nose & taste with a very slight bitter/chocolate finish. A nice medium body that wont bloat you to quickly..

Light bodied for a porter. Pours brown with a small tan head. Coffee and caramel aromas. Taste is lower on the chocolate flavours than most porters. Some roasted barley and caramel sweetness. Growler from MordeciaFunk as part of Aussie BIF. Pours a very dark brown with smallish light tan coloured head. Aromas are dominated by the malt with lots of sweet dusty cocoa, roasted grain, and coffee. Nice stuff. Flavours are a little unbalanced and a little one dimensional for mine with a very assertive bitterness and some alcohol and not a lot else. A tad more malt character would have help. Medium mouthfeel.

On draught at the brewery, Margaret River. Blackened brown body, cola brown in the very shallows and shimmering in the afternoon sun. Big, tannish crown, dense, well held to leave some good lacing. Bitter/sweet dark chocolate, molasses and heavily roasted coffee beans on the nose, spiced and warming. Silky, smooth, medium bodied with just a prickle of delicate carbonation present on the tip of the tongue. Dusty cocoa and vanilla bean, a mild hint of anise under layers of milk chocolate, burnt caramel and smokey, overly roasted coffee. Rich in the finish also with good malty length. Alcohol is present but aptly kept at bay. This was the best of the day, a really solid Porter that what it lacked in complexity it made up for in balance and poise. I could easily drink this all afternoon. Very nice!
