Deep amber pour. Pretty hazy. Mild off white head and mild lacing. Belgian ale like estery aroma which seems out of place. Dark fruit, spiciness, and mild banana. Pick up a bit of caramel sweetness and breadiness. No nuts in aroma. Flavor starts off with a lot if plum and raisin. That taste mellows out to show some nuttiness and slight hop flavors, but definitely still heavy on yeast flavors. Not what I was expecting. ---Rated via iPhone

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled, no clear date but ridiculous reading coding. Pours a clear mahogany, sufficient foam to make it look good. Some slow oozing when I popped the cap. Smells sweet, nutty, sweet from a milk chocolate like aroma, definitely some oxidation going on so could be a bit long in the tooth. Not off putting level. Caramel malt, nutty taste. Again, some oxidation notes but in an aged English Old Ale kind of way which I can easily deal with. Mild milk chocolate adding to the caramel. Medium body with mildish carbonation. Nice malt "bomb ".

June 11, 2014 - at Mondiale 2014 - expensive bottle sample. Slightly hazy amber with minimal head. Vaguely sweet - maple - hint of perfume soap - a bit nutty. Tastes like a smokey scotch ale, somewhat roasty and sweet - really grew on me. Thick, a bit syrupy and sticky, flat, sweet lightly smokey quick finish. NOT worth six friggin’ tickets though.

Majority of a 16.9 oz. (actually, I’m not sure; I didn’t record the size) bottle, consumed on Christmas day, 2016. Pours a hazy amber to dark tan. Leather-like appearance. Small amount of short-lasting, beige head. Lighter in color than I expected. Nice, nut brown ale-like flavor. Mineral taste. Nice liveliness in the palate. Medium body. Not a bad beer. Reasonably enjoyable. Nothing special, however.

Escura avermelhada,espuma fina com média formação e baixa duração;no aroma malte tostado,caramelo,frutas secas,notas amadeiradas;sabor adocicado,tostado,amadeirado,álcool notado mas bem inserido,tênue amargor no final,corpo médio/alto,boa carbonatação,retrogosto adocicado. Boa Brown,gostei.

nazbion (302) - Rio de Janeiro, BRAZIL - AUG 7, 2016
Pours hazy ruby-brown with thin beige head. Aroma of toasted malts, nuts, yeast, light metallic. Taste is sweet, light bitter, alcohol. Medium body, soft carbonation.

asedzie (832) - San Francisco, California, USA - FEB 22, 2016
Bottle - may be past its prime. Pours ruby with thick beige head. Nose is dusty malt syrup, slightly fruity. Flavor is good - mellowed out strong or old ale flavors, still some nuttiness, a bit of slick bitterness near the end. This is really nice as a boozy and nutty ale that is nearly a barley wine, a little hot, but has good complexity #fuqthehaters

wombat23 (1763) - Texas, USA - FEB 14, 2016
Shared 20 oz. bottle. Pours hazy amber with lasting off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt. Taste is sweet malt, caramel, syrup, bread, and bitter nut extract. Cloying. The sweetness combined with the bitter nut flavor make for a rather unpleasant taste. Medium-bodied. Tough to finish this one.

darbeer75 (985) - Round Rock, Texas, USA - FEB 14, 2016
Aroma: reminiscent of the chestnut ale -- not a good thing; malty and sweet; Appearance: dark red with thin head; a little lacing; Taste: also similar to the chestnut ale unfortunately; lots of malt and caramel along with distinctive nutty taste; not looking forward to finishing the glass; Palate: medium body with long, unpleasant aftertaste; Overall: never again.

nuplastikk (6452) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 2, 2016
20oz bottle. Not that impressive of an aroma. Oxidized specialty malts, syrupy not extract tone, slightly infected..the aroma is really unenjoyable, approaching vile. Should have saved this one for a tasting, it is not going to be fun drinking 20oz of this. Serious let down after enjoying some Way Beer sours. Shabby, poorly executed, cheapish feel. Not much is working here.
