Holmen2 (3567) - NORWAY - NOV 18, 2014
UPDATED: DEC 7, 2015 Shared bottle at RB/HD at Askje 18.11.14 and Mi2 at Cardinal 07.12.15. Dark golden. Small, off-white head. Pine, papaya and bittersweet citrus in aroma. Better taste, of citrus well balanced with overripe tropical fruits and malt sweetness. Similar aftertaste.

Large shared bottle during RBHD geocatching session. Kindly provided by Olav. ABV is 9,5%. Clear, sparkling caramel colored body with a small off-white head. Caramel and tropical fruits on the nose. Lasting alco warmth and piny bitterness with a faint caramel sweetness. Full bodied.

Sigmund (7390) - Tau, NORWAY - NOV 18, 2014
Shared bottle at local tasting, thanks to our beerpal Olav. ABV is 9.5%. Deep golden to amber colour, moderate white head. Surprisingly moderate aroma, some fruity and piney hops, stale marmalade and a little caramel and dust. Distinctly hoppy flavour throughout on a decent malty base, nice bitterness, well balanced.

Tap at Slows-Bar-B-Q. Pours a mostly clear gold with a small foamy head that fades to a ring and leaves good lacing. Aroma is like nail polish remover mixed with sugary tropical fruit. Tastes the sames as the aroma. Very harsh. I really can’t tell if this is infected or just a really poorly made DIPA.

Bottle pour copper golden. Nose syrupy malt, grassy, some hops. Taste starts with sweet malt, followed by immediate astringent bitterness and alcohol. Ending with unknown spiciness. The taste didn’t live up to the smell, Did not enjoy this one, which is a shame since I usually like all DIPA’s. Serves me right for throwing a DIPA in my cart just cause it says Colorado on it and not reading the fine print.

ljthiessen (1322) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - NOV 2, 2014
Bottle. Cloudy golden amber pour with a thin white head. Tropical fruits, more hops in the flavour than the aroma. Sweet, but hoppy and tasty. Didn’t have very high expectations, but this was surprisingly decent. Would definitely find this to try again.

40oz bottle 10/19/14 (Binny’s Downers Grove)-40° in Shaker-Pours an orangish amber with a big loose white head. Aroma of hops, malt, citrus, and sourness. Taste of the same with some Rapadura. this medium bodied brew is a bit different but not bad.

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2016 600ml served in a pint glass. A: Pours a nice dark orange color. Slightly hazy. Forms big bubbled light yellow head. Great retention and tons of lingering soap-like lacings formed and left in the glass S: Caramel malts, flowery hops and the very particular and peculiar smell of rapadura which orchestrate all together giving also a bit sour sensation in the end. Roasted malts. A bit smoked. Hops are quite citrus, grassy and piny T: Slightly sweet upfront. Strong notes of toffee, caramel malts, roasted malts, coffee and rapadura. Notes of raisins, grapefruit, orange zest. From sweet, it becomes quite bitter. Hops have grassy, citrus and piny notes. Intense bitter end. Rapadura gives it some light notes of sourness M: Heavy, creamy and a little bit molasses body. Medium carbonation. Bittersweet caramel-grass aftertaste O: Excellent drinkability. Just another Colorado masterpiece [ BA Review @ 7/17/2013 ]
