eduardovl (1454) - SWITZERLAND - OCT 14, 2014
UPDATED: JUL 4, 2016 600ml served in a pint glass. A: Pours a nice dark orange color. Slightly hazy. Forms big bubbled light yellow head. Great retention and tons of lingering soap-like lacings formed and left in the glass S: Caramel malts, flowery hops and the very particular and peculiar smell of rapadura which orchestrate all together giving also a bit sour sensation in the end. Roasted malts. A bit smoked. Hops are quite citrus, grassy and piny T: Slightly sweet upfront. Strong notes of toffee, caramel malts, roasted malts, coffee and rapadura. Notes of raisins, grapefruit, orange zest. From sweet, it becomes quite bitter. Hops have grassy, citrus and piny notes. Intense bitter end. Rapadura gives it some light notes of sourness M: Heavy, creamy and a little bit molasses body. Medium carbonation. Bittersweet caramel-grass aftertaste O: Excellent drinkability. Just another Colorado masterpiece [ BA Review @ 7/17/2013 ]

Bottle - Earthy weedy hops and caramel. Cloudy orange gold with a rich white head. Bit of spicy hops and rich caramel, boozy and some of the vegative hops. Finish is bitter and long. Overall a very average beer.

Bottle [from trade with beerhunter111] @ home. Clear dark orange to amber color, full sized off-white head that leaves fair lacing. Aroma is quite weird for a double IPA: malts, caramel, some cardboard, bready. Taste malts, again caramel, oxidation, leaves, bitter and old hops. I think it must be an old bottle or alternatively it’s just not a good beer.

Sampled at esbls. Clear golden .. This is kind of huttery. It has a malt liquor aspect. Not really good. Maybe old.

I am sure I had a bad bottle. Nothing like the reviews I've read. It had a butterscotch aroma with some sourness thrown in. The taste was sour and funky but not in a good way. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz. bottle. Fruity (mango, orange), malty (caramel) aroma features a saltwater scent. This beer does not have the hops dominance or profile one would expect in the aroma of an American version of a Double IPA, but it is pleasant. A touch umami in smell. Initially pours a clear, highly effervescent copper. The color actually ranges from gold at the bottom of the glass to deep bronze or amber at the top of the glass. The final of multiple pours has much suspended particulate and is somewhat darker in color. Moderate amount of beige head. Produces good lacing. Looks appetizing and appealing. Initially malty taste features flavors of molasses (I later learned that the beer contains Rapadura sugar, so this makes sense), minerals, and some citrus. Dry, lemony, briny hops become increasingly evident as I sip. There is a flavor that reminds me of lemons and rocks. Also peach, Worthers Original or creamy fruit lollipop, and cinnamon chewing gum. Licorice finish. Dry, mineral-y aftertaste. Numbing on the tongue. Medium body. Smooth in the palate. Lively and soft. Overall, Colorado Vixnu is a likable beer and a nice change of pace for a Double IPA. That Rapadura sugar really makes its presence felt and changes the character of the beer, so this does not taste like many other beers in the IPA family.

Cor cobre, pouca espuma e pouca duração. Ara doce e herbal, rapadura. Boa acidez e carbonatação. Amargor presente mas equilibrado. Não transparece o álcool.

Bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit ordentlicher weißer Schaumkrone. Geruch nach reifen Obst, sehr malzig. Geschmack kräftig malzig, alkoholisch, reifes Obst.
