Colt 45 High Gravity Lager has a thick, white head and a clear, golden color. Carbonation is moderate to high. The aroma is of corn and malt, but not particularly strong. The taste is surprisingly mild for an 8.5% abv beer. This drink does not taste strong, if anything, it has a stereotypical beer flavor, so Id say the alcohol is pretty much hidden. Mouth-feel is moderately heavy. This finished crisp, which was a further surprise. I thought Colt 45 HG (poured from a 16 oz. can) was very full-flavored and enjoyable. I recommend giving this one a try. By the way, it is NOT available in Louisiana. I bought it on a road trip in New York City. RJT

Pours yellow, with a white head. Aroma is corn, grain, malt, and a little fruit. Flavor is corn, fruit, grain, and alcohol. Not too bad, certainly drinkable.

Finally had it. Not bad if consumed cold. The chill masks the nasty corn taste that comes along with this fine brew. I still need to have it in a forty to have a complete opinion.

Bought at TERRIBLE HERBST gas station on Russell road, Las Vegas! A bad beer, but drinkable ice cold, otherwise a corn ridden crappy beer, but drinkable ice cold, reminds me of some cheap Russian/Dutch forte lagers! lol....

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2010 Rollin with mydudes. Yellow pour with a nice sized white head. Aroma is booze, spoiled dark fruit, and grain. Flavor is similar but adds some nice plum, grape, raisin, and other rotting dark fruits into the mix. Reminds me a bit of westy 12 in the department. Booze becomes apparent when it warms and kind of stands off on its own.

Niet zo speciaal, heeft hoge alcohol graad maar smaakt zoals een doordeweekse pils, niet veel smaak aan

I bought this as a goof for my 700th beer on beer advocate. It is really a lot better than I expected. It isnt world class. But for the price and the flavor/ABV it rates pretty darn high. Pour it in a pint glass and give it a try. You may be surprised.

Aroma - sweet and corny malt, broken down and diffused alcohol. Appearance - the body is a clean gold. The nucleation is consistent. The head is 1 1/2" and white, and fades out to a thin layer. Taste - has a sweet fruity-like element, corn, cardboard, and a slight rubbing alcohol. This is not a fun drink. Palate - is between light and medium, carbonation is lively, the finish is slightly sweet and dry.
