Medium tan in color, with an average head. Shows good lacing down the glass. Smells a bit sweet. But, the taste is rich, with molasses, coffee and a bit of burnt malt/

Bottle. Beatiful dark brick red pour with huge frothy thick head. Aroma was of roast malt. My first taste left foam on my nose and a "Got Milk" mustache! Very suprising flavor! I actually thought that I was drinking a chocolate stout! Smooth full bodied mouthfeel. Flavor was burnt cooking chocolate and malt. The finish was a nice dry bitter chocolate. I really enjoyed this drink and can’t wait to try it again.

12oz bottle pours cloudy reddish brown with a soft offwhite head that stays well and laces the sides of the glass. Aromas of light caramel and roasted malts. Big upfront roast flavor with caramel malt and alot of smoke.. A touch of toffee comes through from the back. Finish is lingeringly smokey. Palate is full bodied and somewhat chewy... Not bad..

Dark red/brown with a thick tan head. Rich roasted malt aroma. Flavor of roast and malt with some bitterness in the finish.

Draft at CBC. Clear reddish brown color with an average fizzy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted toffee aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Balanced malty sweet flavor with a balanced finish of moderate duration. I would recommend this to a freind.

Proud to be the second reviewer of this beer. Served in a small snifter from a 12 oz. bottle. Very dark reddish-brown with a small, creamy, dark eggshell-colored head that dissipates into a ring. Aroma exhibits chocolate, coffee, and caramel, with a touch of smokey ash. Not unlike a porter, and very, very good. Flavor exudes more smoke quite a lot of bitter hops; tiny hint of astringent. Sticky but simultaneously feels watered down (as does the flavor). For the record, this beer does NOT go well with pizza. Overall solid and right up there with the CBC nut brown.

8/17/06: Bottle.
Roasted malt nose. Body is garnet brown with a tan head. Lacing clings to glass. Flavors include malt, caramel and hops. Notes of smoke with a touch of bitter black coffee. Finish is slightly bitter and relatively long.
