12oz bottle poured into snifter. Dark murky color with a golden hue. Aroma has hints of citrus, grapefruit, hops and pine. Flavor is earthy with a sweet finish. Not too malty but has a nice distinct sweetness I can’t seem to place. brokensail (16689) - Dublin, California, USA - AUG 29, 2011
A: The pour is a clear orange/amber color with a big white head and some sticky lacing.
S: The nose is rather nice. Lots of citrus notes featuring orange, tangerine, and grapefruit. A light grass note and plenty of pine and floral hop aromas. Just a little bit of bready malts.
T: Tastes just as citrusy as it smells. Nice fresh orange and grapefruit flavors with a little bit of tropical fruit, too. The requisite pine bitterness is there with only a touch of grass and bread.
M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
O: Just my second beer from these guys, but both have been quite enjoyable. dbarnold (1127) - Bethesda, Maryland, USA - AUG 24, 2011
Had on tap while in Columbus for a business trip...outstanding IPA with an impressive bouquet of hops. Citrus, pine, resin all the the nose and palate. nice bitter kick up front and and the finish. Body isn’t huge, but there, and supports the hops well. Really good. bluejacket74 (1996) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - AUG 20, 2011
I’ve had Columbus IPA many times before with it being a local favorite of mine, but surprisingly I’ve never reviewed it until now!
12 ounce bottle. Served in a Columbus Brewing Company pint glass, the beer pours a hazy orange/amber color with about an inch off-white head that stays around for a while. There’s a lot of lacing left on the glass. Aroma is mostly citrusy hops (tropical fruit, orange, grapefruit, mango), along with some piney hops and a bit of sweet malt. The taste is pretty much just like the aroma, it’s full of citrusy and pine hops, and there’s some light malt in there too. There’s also a very long lasting bitter hoppy finish. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit slick and creamy with good carbonation. This is one of my favorite IPA’s, and I’m glad this is made here in town and is readily available in the area. Definitely recommended. fonefan (52396) - VestJylland, DENMARK - AUG 14, 2011

Bottle 12fl.oz. @ home.
[ Courtesy of Secret Summer Santa ]. Clear medium yellow orange colour with a large, frothy and open, excellent lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, citrus, apricot, peach. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dry, tripical fruit, woody hops. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
12 oz. bottle via trade with Tripphop (BA) - Pours a hazy amber color with a one and a half finger thick off white head. Light lacing. Aroma is pine hops. Flavor is pine and herbal hops. At this point, the beers is fairly one dimensional. Which isn’t a bad thing. Medium body. A nice IPA. deyholla (12590) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUL 17, 2011
UPDATED: JAN 22, 2012 Bottle from a trade. Pours a hazy gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has some notes of light citrus and pine with some grapefruit and a hint of resin and sweet grains. Flavor begins with light fruit and citrus but becomes resinous with pine in the finish.
Bottle shared by Dan, thanks! Poured a hazy gold with a white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had notes of strong pine, some dankness with a bit of a backing sweet grain note. Flavor started similarly to the nose with a strong dank pine note with some resin but the flavor kind of dies off in to a weaker finish that left a bit to be desired. steelhead3686 (269) - Jacksonville, North Carolina, USA - JUL 15, 2011
Note: I got this beer on tap during Brew Week in Athens, Ohio.

This guy pours a hazy orange with a thin white head. With the orange color comes a citrus and hop aroma. It is medium bitter on taste and finish. Has a flat heavy feel on the palate. One of the more enjoyable IPAs I’ve had.
look: 4 smell: 4.5 taste: 4.5 feel: 4.5 overall: 4.5
A-Pours a hazy orange amber color with a nice 1 finger head
S- Floral hops hit the nose right away followed by some citrus notes and sweetness. Smells very crisp and clean.
T- WOW the explosion of citrus and hops and sweetness balance so well. This beer is delightful
M-Medium to light bodied. Great Carbonation. Very crisp and refreshing
D-Overall i was flored by this beer. It has a boring label and boring name so wasn’t exspecting anything from it. but this is prob. my favorite IPA right now. IT just has Great flavors that don’t mask the hops but also the hops don’t take over the great flavors they put in this beer. GIve this beer a try! Bottle. Orangey pour with a nice white head. Aroma of fresh, sticky, piney american hops. Standard and discreet malt profile. Flavor is bitter, some honey notes in it though, fresh hop bite. Not as dry and bitter as some of the great american IPAs in my experience, but a nice refreshing one nonetheless.
