COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Specially kilned Crystal malt and a generous portion of American cascade hops are used for a refreshing, spicy aroma, and a long, dry finish. Great with food, it’s big, bold, and bittersweet. Named best beer in Ohio and winner of a Bronze Medal in the World Beer Championships. Four Stars-Great Lakes Beer Guide.

Hazy amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is airy, mildly dry and has good fine carbonation. Smooth malts, nice light creamy sweetness. Hops are spicy orange, orange peel, mild pine and a nice mellow touch of mango. Light finish. Clean and super drinkable but lacks the wonderful hop intensity of it’s IPA and DIPA siblings.

Bottle shared at Aaron’s. Musty and dry with some hop appeal. But overall not as much as I would expect.

Initial taste is very sweet with citrus and grapefruit. Finishes with a bitter flavor then a slight stale taste.

On tap at Columbus brewing company restaurant in Columbus Ohio. Cbc’s pale ale is a honey amber brew with a firm head of white foam. Nose is faint pine and floral hints. Taste is a delicate framework of hops over a decent medium malt structure. Body is lightly lively. A very nice apa.

Tasted from draft. Pours a copper color with white head. Aroma is pine and floral notes. Taste is a nice clean bitterness throughout with malt backbone. Moderate bitterness with mild to moderate sweetness. Pine, floral and caramel flavors. Medium bodied. Above average pale ale. Great beer for watching the columbus clippers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle courtesy of Brooke (thanks!). Gold pour with a bright white head. Aroma of malt, pine, floral. Tastes are along the same lines with caramel malt up front balanced with citrus and grass. Good. 7.2

Light crisp hop aroma, with some grassy notes. Pours a clear amber with a thin off-white head. Grassy hop notes are the predominant flavors, lingering bitter finish. Light and easy drinking, with a light mouthfeel. Overall a nice easy drinking beer for warm weather.

Draft. Good beer overall. Nice light copper/dark yellow color. Nice hoppiness, but wasn’t harsh or sharp. Good American IPA.

Taster at the brewpub pours golden. Nose faint tropical fruit and sweet malt. Taste hint of aromatic hop up front, followed by strong malt backbone then bitter. Nice bitter finish. Drank a lot of this when I was in school and working in Columbus.
