Growler share with Doug and Henry. Thanks Frank.
Poured into a mug, the appearance was a dark amber almost brown color with a finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head. Light stringy lace.
The aroma had some toast, milk chocolate, woody/earthy hops and some light espresso sweet to bitter nibs at the end.
The flavor took all of the previously mentioned aromas and added in a touch of vanilla. Nice gentle aftertaste of the espresso; same in the finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Somewhat creamy along my tongue. Roastiness doesn’t grip as much. Carbonation felt fine and the ABV felt good.
Overall, really nice coffee brown ale that brought the goods! blankboy (7884) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 2, 2015
[Mini-growler] Pours a deep dark amber-brown with an average size semi-lasting frothy tan head. Some minimal lacing. Aroma of espresso first followed by toasted malt, notes of chocolate and vanilla and light leafy hops. Flavour is creamy and toasty along with lots of coffee, some chocolate and a nice coffee bitter finish. Medium bodied. As fine a Brown Ale as I’ve had, great stuff. Draft at pizza plant. Dark Brown pour with a thin khaki head. Nose is sweet espresso. Taste is a nice bittersweet espresso body with a sweet chocolate though. A bit thin, but really enjoyable. pete4999 (1445) - Buffalo, New York, USA - APR 20, 2013
Growler fill from the brewery. Pours a dark, basically opaque brown. Smells strongly of light coffee, light roast, nothing too heavy or bitter. Light mouthfeel, easy to drink, decent carbonation. Very strong on the coffee throughout. Very good. mabel (10004) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 31, 2012
[4997-20121207] Cask. Dry dusty roasted malt aroma. Hazy, dark brown body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. More dry dusty roasted malt in the flavour heavily accented with espresso. Full body. Interesting to sample. (7/3/7/3/15) 3.5

2012-12-07. Dark brown head fades. Strong aroma of coffee grounds and beans. Muted dark malt 7+ Flavour is similar dry roasty coffee lightly bitter 7+ Average bodied palate is under carbonated. More coffee than I personally care for but it grows on me a lot in the second half of the glass, once my taste buds have acclimated.
