Poured from a bottle (release #7) into a snifter glass.
Aroma- Bourbon, oak/wood, caramel, and toffee.
Appearance- A brown-orange almost copper like look. Has good carbonation and some lacing at the top of glass.
Taste- Upfront whiskey taste followed by brown sugar, dark fruits, and some sweetness.
Palate- Warm mouth fell with the upfront bourbon/whiskey taste. Medium body with a malty sweet finish.
Overall- A good sipping beer. It tasted more like a barley wine than a bock the way it was brewed. Beerdedone (3408) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 8, 2014
Bottle. Pours reddish brown with a frothy tan head that left sticky lacing. Aroma of bourbon, caramel, toffee, vanilla and oak. Flavor was quite sweet and complex with oaky bourbon, caramel/toffee, brown sugar, vanilla and had a touch of dark fruit with a sweet and warming finish. Medium to full bodied, oily texture, lively carbonation. Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - DEC 12, 2013
8/8/2012. From bottle. Dark brown with a tan head. Sweet malty aromas with caramel, dried fruit and oak. Boozy flavors with fruit, oak and light spices. A bit sticky and not something I could drink a lot of. harrymel (1551) - Spokane, Washington, USA - DEC 5, 2013
Batch 2, bottled 25MAY12
Pours a lovely crimson with a touch of mahogany, nice tan sheet atop this one. Smells, mmm, good. Caramel, nougat, some crystal malts, some hints of toffee, a little vanilla and Jordan almonds - lovely nose. Taste is candied walnut, a hint of alcohol, some nougat, some bread (hawaiian rolls), a little touch of oak and bitterness. Medium bodied with light carb and a numbing after affect. This is a real surprise. At $7/bomber - hard to pass up now that I’ve seen it... Might go buy the rest of ’em.

Bottle, smell is sweet fig and raisin, appearance is dark brown with a tan head, taste is very sweet molasses and quite boozy. A little too sweet for me but I can see why a lot of people would like it knickskicks (1162) - - NOV 17, 2013
Tawny red pour, off-white head that disappears. Nose is bourbon, cherry pie, raisins, fig cookie, some ash. Taste is bourbon barrel, sweet malts, spicyness frim the bourbon barrel, cherries, raisins, barrel and bitterness to the finish. Sticky, oily mouthfeel. One of if not the best year-round shelf beers available in my area. bigguns22 (798) - Maryland, USA - NOV 17, 2013
Very unquie beer that is malty and sweet. Dark amber color with a fluffy tan head. Aroma is malty, earthy and sweet. Big malt bomb with wood and honey notes. Good beer but sweet enough to be dessert so one is enough. jbrana (640) - NASHVILLE, Tennessee, USA - OCT 13, 2013
A bit of a malt bomb with strong vanilla, oak, and caramel flavors. Sweet, smooth, and has notes of figs, raisins, and cookies. kidmartinek (5000) - austin, Texas, USA - SEP 30, 2013
Pours half a glass of foam. Very frothy. Its got that thick amber color characteristic of a bock. The rick amber nose is drowned in alcohol. The flavor is malty sweet alcohol finished with tinge. As for the barrel aging, why? Maybe its added some vanilla to this alcoholic bock. ewww.
