22 oz. bottle purchased at Randallís back in 2011 or so with the regular vintage. The intent was to try them side-by-side sometime in the last five years but it didnít quite work out that way. I finally opened the regular and it had started to oxidize (duh) so I opened this one tonight. Pours a barely cloudy reddish amber with a small off-white head that settles into an uneven, lasting film and ring. The aroma and the flavor are basically identical - brown sugar, vanilla, chocolate, raisins, pecans, walnuts, toasted oak, dates, earth, and dry leaves. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a sweet, toasty mouthfeel. Drinks like a barrel-aged barley wine. Iím stunned at how well this has held up. The regular was okay, so I figured this one would be well past its prime. (bottle - 22 oz - 2012 vintage) Copper pour with a thin tan head. Incredibly sweet aroma. Lots of malts and vanilla from the barrel. Good hint of the bourbon as well. Bottle. Pours a dark amber with paper thin beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is candy sugar, wood, bourbon, vanilla. Thin mouth, boozy, sugar malt, very sweet, wood, nice boozy finish, very nice.

I love Buffalo Trace bourbon. That should be the whole review, but Iíll expand. 22oz bottle obtained from some shop in San Diego and consumed on my hotel balcony, 18th March 2014. Taken with the most expensive Pizza (room service) I have ever had in my life!
I really enjoyed this, certainly different and unlike most beers I have drank over the years. Deep, dark ruby red with a full head. Sweet aroma of malt molasses and hints of bourbon from the barreling. The taste is again fairly sweet with various malty flavours to the fore throughout the brew. The alcohol compliments the taste rather than overruling it and the body feel is smooth and rich (for a lager based beer). Overall a very nice ínight-capí and a fitting end to a great sightseeing/drinking day and evening in San Diego.
