Draft at rnh. Dark black/brown color. Smells of suhar, hops and candy. Taste is malty and funky with a sour aftertaste . Must be the yeast, not bad. Thank you Jeremy! jredmond (8645) - New York, New York, USA - FEB 26, 2011
Draft at RnH with Andrew and Grandpop. Pours a dark brown body with no head. Aroma is sweet bourbon, oak, dark fruit, and sweet malt. Mouthfeel is thin to medium with great sweet bourbon notes of front and finishes with an interesting sour, tart twist. The geektoberfest title really through me off. Pour is dark brown, near black. Didn’t have any head atop. Nose is plum and vinegar... some brown sugars. Body is good.. but taste doesn’t jive well.. Not feel this at all.. gsmitty80 (2130) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 18, 2011
Deep red color on the pour that was pretty thick and heavy. Nice sweet taste up front and than a sour finish. I really enjoyed this beer. JoeMcPhee (9553) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 15, 2011
Deep brown amber pour with a thick tan head. The nose is spicy and fruity. Plummy with some nice Belgian yeast as well. Sweet and fruity with some raisiny/date sweetness. Sweet and a little bit woody. It tastes like the base of their Rejewvenator.

Well I was expecting an oktoberfest, and obviously this is not one. Sweet toffee, belgiany yeast aroumatics and bready. Dark bready malts, raisins and brown sugar. Light bitter and some astringency. Some of these flavors are a bit contradictory but still decent result. Rciesla (5607) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - DEC 9, 2010
Draft. Pours a dark bruin body with an off white head lacing and okay retention. Wood and oak strike first. Strong and vinous notes, a light sherry tone. Coco and chocolate, a strong malt bill or barrel. This is all pretty hard to sort through a bit of a messy mix of strong ales. murphym45 (779) - New York, New York, USA - NOV 10, 2010
On tap @ Rattle N Hum
Pours dark brown with a nice tan head. Lots of different aromas, some caramel malts, dark fruits, cherries, plum, some candy sweetness, bit of nutty aroma. Medium bodied and smooth, light bitterness, just a little bit of sourness on the finish. So much going on that it’s kind of hard to tell exactly what’s in there, but still enjoyable. kbutler1 (1382) - Minnesota, USA - OCT 29, 2010
Growler. Courtesy of aparris85! Pours avery dark non see through brown color with a slight tan head that collars around the glass. So apparently this is a mix of beers between Captain Lawrence (sour brown aged in port barrels for 2 years), Ithaca (nut brown aged in Utopias barrels), and Schmaltz (4 different years of Jewbelation and Rejewvenator). The aroma of the bat is sweet and sour cherries mixed with vanilla, oak, and grape. A lot going on in the taste, maybe too much? Initially, you get sweet and sour fruit, the cherries and grape, then a wine like oaky transition that ends with a slight lingering bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and dry. For how much is blended into this it is pretty good but I think some of the flavors get a little muddled. User29624 (1687) - - OCT 12, 2010
Had this beer on tap. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Sweet aroma and a somewhat light body. It almost had a faint sour touch to the beer as well. I liked it.
