The body is deep rich reddish orange amber color with good clarity. The head is light tan in color, thick and slow fading. On the way down the glass as I sip it leaves behind nice lace rings. In the nose I pick up a big sweet malty bomb with a heavy boozy resiny pine character as well. On the tongue there is bold malty grain sweetness with some fruit notes and deep boozy warmth. Hop flavor is right up there as well with resiny pine and citrus oil like flavor. Hop bitterness slowly cuts through malt sweetness and lingers on in the finish. Its palate has a thick full body and texture with light muted carbonation. 60minuteman (1765) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 8, 2014
Cloudy honey brown color, him yellow foam, small soft bubbles. Aroma of toasted malt, corn, alcohol, yeast, spices and sugar. Taste is harsh on the tongue. Carbonation is medium. Alcohol disguised quite well. A nice lager. StevieT (2039) - AUSTRALIA - APR 7, 2014
From a 1 pint bottle. Strong malty aroma with rich roasted flavours and a hint of hops. It is a beer to be savoured with it’s strong alcohol content and warming flavour. AgentAle (1853) - Fort Mcmurray, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 24, 2014
Aroma is a rich malt character with some caramel notes and floral hops. Taste is a rich maltiness with a fruity taste and slight liquor snap on the tip. Well balanced malt and hop finish. Clear dark amber body with a creamy head with good retention. Masterkush7 (581) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 10, 2014
Pours a clear amber color with a white head. Head dissipates quickly andeaves very little lace. Smells of faint malt and booze. Tastes of booze right away then the sweetness of malts hits then finishes with booze. Am disappointed as I expected more from this beer.

An ok bock, extremely boozy. Pours a beautiful red with a thick tan head. Smells nice overall, a bit of banana, clove, herb and malt. Taste however, is like malt liquor, can't taste anything past malt and alcohol. Had in the bottle.

Cream colored head, fading slowly. Aromas of malt and slight orange. Taste caramel and fruit, a bit sweet, slightly hoppy finish. Lightly carbonated. travita (5008) - Dallas, Texas, USA - SEP 16, 2013
Backlog of ratings. Thanks to someone at one of bu11zeye’s tastings. The smell is floral, hops, fruits, and caramel. The look is copper, no head, and clear. The taste is fruits, caramel, candy, and some hop bitterness.

Rated on 4-23-2009. This bottled beer pours a small ivory head with a short retention, transparent reddish body, soft, slow rising fizzy carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing. The Aroma is malty, citrus hops, and caramel. The Taste is malty, caramel, semi-sweet, alcohol, and some hoppy bitterness. The Palate is tingly and this is a medium bodied beer. Overall, this beer is quaffable; however, I was caught off guard with some hoppiness due to this beer’s style. Interesting take on the style. This is a sipping beer at 10%ABV and worth trying. 22 oz bottle. Clear amber with a thick foamy head. Nose is grape, nuts and brown bread. Rich and malty almost full body with a tang. Taste is toffee and dates with a hint of smoke leading to a burnt sugar finish. Simple, clean and spot on stylewise.
