Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is light heavy malty, caramel, overripped fruit, tobacco, anis seed, moderate yeasty. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
22 fl oz bottle as Hebrew Blockhead. Pours hazy dark orange with a small tan head. Aroma is mild fruity and hoppy. Bitter and dry initial impression. Smooth malty base and mild malty towards vague metallic note into the finish. Good. joergen (29625) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 28, 2010

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Sweetish malty caramel flavor with some toasted hints. Toasted malty caramel finish. oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - JAN 26, 2015
Bottled. Ambery brown colour with a small creamy off-white head. Aroma is toffee, caramel, mild nuttiness along with some alcohol and mild toasted notes. Flavour is nutty, toffeeish, a bit toasted and some alcohol. Rather low on the bitterness.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of TheCheeseMan. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Very malty and caramellish nose with a metallic whiff. Rather solid body, with a massive malt base, some caramel. The finish is rather bitter and alcoholic - the bottom fermenting yeast cannot really bear the alcohol. 270310 fiulijn (21516) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 17, 2009

Brown color, quite dark. The aroma is lightly Madeirised. Good caramel flavor, too much oxidisation and alcohol, nutty too; strong ending bitterness, maybe too much. A bit chaotic for me.
Cask at Pony Bar, Manhattan - 29/02/12.
Medium brown in colour with a frothy tan head.
Malts, caramel, alcohol and dark sugars on the nose.
Sweet tasting, malty, earthy, dark fruits and alcohol.
Medium bodied, not as chewy as I thought it would be, a litle biterness in the aftertaste and a little alcohol burn.
I enjoyed this but thought the alcohol could have been better hidden. mcberko (19880) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 17, 2010
22 oz. bottle, pours murky reddish brown with a small head. Fruity nose, with toffee and alcohol. Flavour of complex fruits, well-balanced sweetness vs. bitterness, caramel and a slight alcohol finish. Very well-done. saxo (19583) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - JUL 5, 2012
Tap @ Rattle N Hum, NYC. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are rich fruits, caramel notes, malt and hops. Sweet finish.
