Pours with a lightly hazed, coppery/golden body, affluent effervescence and a long-holding off-white head. Aroma is sweet and diverse with notes of citrus, green, grassy herbals, a bready undertow and a malted drizzle of caramel. Slightly cloying, but the balance between malt and hop is well-executed. Flavors are rather intense but none truly shows dominance. Caramel, chocolate, orange, grasses... sweetness at first, then lingering with a low hop bite. I found a slight, boozy, Southern Comfort note in the finish which I didn’t care for, but overall this was intricate and satisfying.

A beer doesn’t have to be big and heavy to be well crafted and this one is done nicely.
Clear deep copper with a small off-white head.
Juicy caramel malt aroma.
Lots of Munich malt flavors here with some nice hop dry notes coming in towards the finish. guzzler67 (1696) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - JAN 23, 2008
Bright amber appearance with a small, off white head. Malty, mildly spiced aroma. Caramel malts add a touch of sweetness to the taste. Grainy, herbal flavors further enhance the palate. Smooth, medium bodied mouthfeel with average carbonation. Clean, dry finish does not linger. Nicely put together. cking (1175) - North Canton, Ohio, USA - FEB 4, 2008
A very nice beer, well put together. Sweet caramel aroma with grassy hops. Golden amber pour, 1/2" thick head and good lacing. Full bodied and creamy with a mild sweetness and lightly bitter finish. Nutty taste, mildly toasted and caramel malt. Well hopped providing a fresh grassy flavor. Well balanced beer. Ibrew2or3 (8748) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - FEB 21, 2008
Bomber shared with Degarth courtesy of Degarth. Thanks again. The pour comes out deep copper with thin off white head. The aroma is mild with faint grainy to pale maltiness followed by some spice hops. The taste is full and refreshing with a solid pulse of pale malts to grainy malts to mild caramel and biscuit malts. Hops are noticed too with floral flowery notes and spice. Nice session beer with solid flavors.

22 ounce bottle purchased at BevMo in Vacaville. Aroma has some nice strawberry like fruitiness with some sugary and metallic malts. This also has a significant floral quality to it. I dont know, this just smells really fine. Transparent ruddy-golden body with a weak off-tan head with minimal lacing. Starts a bit spicy and peppery with some hop flavors before this becomes a bit corny and metallic in the middle. FInishes crisp and grassy. Light bitterness. Quenching. Draught at The Red in Santa Cruz. Clear amber with a compact, creamy off-white head that leaves moderate lace. Mostly hoppy aroma: floral, spicy, earthy, and a hint of citrus. The flavor is a great balance of toffeeish malts and assertive, complex hop flavors. The hops are a good blend of more citric american flavors, and more earthy and spicy european character. At first, it seems like a hoppy APA, but the light, crisp body and cleaner flavors let you know that you are drinking a lager. I love hoppy lagers, and this one is definitely well done. Just light enough to politely pair with the portabella sandwich that I had, but with enough hop flavor to cut through the richness of the brie cheese on it. unclemattie (4357) - Georgia, USA - AUG 6, 2008
22oz bottle, red cap. Amber color, tan head. Aroma of fresh malt combined with herbal hops. Flavor has a spicy bite. Sweet malt, honey, caramel. Bitter hop flavors. Creamy texture, woody finsih. A very impressive lager. Surprisingly enjoyable. thornecb (5995) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - SEP 4, 2008
Pours amber into a stein. Off-white head quickly subsides to hug rim. Crisp with caramel from front to back. Dark caramel hop finish. LilBeerDoctor (4032) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 13, 2008
Bottle. Pours a deep orange/brown with a thick, foamy light tan head. Aroma of nice flowery hops with toasted and caramel malt. Awesome! Flavor is quite good as well, nice light floral hops and sweet malt. Slight toasted malt presence, particularly in the finish. Superbly drinkable. Similar to SA Boston Lager but more full-bodied and not as sweet. A top-notch vienna and one of the best lagers I’ve had. Definitely superior to its 3.35 average.
