Mermaids, those mysterious aquatic lovelies, have popped up all over the world in legend since 1000 BC. No scientific evidence has ever surfaced to support their existence, but we’re not ones to argue with folklore.

Aroma - dank and minor Saaz hops. Appearance - the body is pale yellow, the head is 1" and holds tight. Taste - nice dank, floral, and minor Saaz spiced hops. Palate - medium body, lively carbonation, and dry slightly spiced bitters.

DATE TASTED: December 23, 2015... GLASSWARE: 22 oz. pilsener...OCCASION: prepping for Episode VII with Episode II--patience in viewing... APPEARANCE: glistening gold body that displays a cascade of bubbles... snow-white head measures two fingers, with a coral ring topping off a half-inch sustained spongy base--attractive... AROMA: Saaz and rye form an immediate, sharp cheese, aromatic flowers, and subtle pepper... the requisite biscuit is smooth and alluring, fresh and balanced...PALATE: a rather flat, slightly textured sip; mild body; dry and beefy at the finish, with a diminishing return at the throat....sessionable but on the watery side...TASTE: the initial flirtation of flowery hops gives way to a less developed, weak malt is moderately flavorful...a thin profile that only reflects the rye with some undercurrents of pepper, with apple and pear making a light, late appearance..OVERALL: the flavor does not deliver what the aroma portends...unfamiliar with Coney Island, I am not encouraged by this attempt, but at least the beer is drinkable, low in ABV, and attractive in a few aspects...

Draft->pilsener at Industry Standard in Greenport. Golden yellow with big frothy white head. Pretty standard pils hops and grains, lite spice. Eh.

kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 17, 2015
Bottle. Pours a clear pale yellow body with a small fizzy white head that faded fairly quickly. The nose is a little off for the style, a slightly weird Fruity Pebbles like note over a minimal hop note and some mild sweetness. Doesn’t exactly smell like the best Pilsner. The flavor is just as off as the aroma was letting on. It’s weirdly fruity with a cereal graininess and minimal bitterness. I look for bready, clean, and a significant hop presence in a Pilsner, this has none of those. Lighter bodied with fizzy carbonation and a slight stickiness on the back end. Piss poor effort with this one.

ACHops (1594) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 11, 2015
On tap @ Shade Bar. Pours light golden with medium white head that fades quickly. Aroma is crisp fresh malt, light rye notes. Taste is similar - clean, crisp, and cracker dry on the finish. Some light hops come through as well. Very nice pilsner.

nice noble hop bite to this pilsner, but otherwise very run of the mill. Still prefer sam adams noble pils for a good cheap one.

OnTheTrail (521) - USA - SEP 26, 2015
UPDATED: SEP 28, 2015 Golden. Aroma is floral and spicy. Malt is somewhat light, taste is more spicy earthy hops. Noticeable bitterness. Mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing. Woukd have been better on a warmer day, but the Oktoberfest beer was kicked.
